Ibra for Eto'o is doing the rounds..

feasable? smart move? which team wins here? i love ibra but i'd be worried if we did that deal.. would probably have a negative impact on our team but i'd just love ibrahimovic in the blue and red!

I'd rather spend all our money on Benzema than see that Swedish plonker wearing our shirt.

He's a genius at times, but he's also not good enough for the real top.

Imo, any club that spends its money on Benzema is sweet for years to come. Not that I've seen him that often but he looks something special.

Owen is being linked to Manchester united again. Hopefully we get him.

Liverpool definately need to be looking at a decent wide player this offseason. Guys like Silva, Ribery, Quaresma, Mancini should def be on their list. A striker to partner Torres' scraps would be decent too, someone of the Martins, Villa, Defoe etc style player.

I'm hoping Man Utd go and get Phillip Lahm plus a big striker. Would love Berbatov, but think Tottenham will price him out of our hands.
Ribery aside, Ashley Young would be a better buy than all those wide players you listed.

I love how these fans (not you but in general) get all excited over these players with foreign sounding names and reputations enhanced by favourable Football Manager stats. If the creativity or flair options are high then the love-in can be uncontrollable.

Money is important too apollo as you know. Young would cost about 15m whilst you could get 2 of those guys for the same price.

I reckon he would cost even more than that.

Considering he arrived for nearly 10m, no way Villa would want to sell him for 15m. Then there's the English markup. Then there's MON fired up and with his knickers in a twist over Barry.

He'd cost most clubs about 20m, and us about 50 :p

Fantastic player, but way, way to expensive for us.

Mancini would be a fairly cheap option (as compared to the others).

Quaresma's value/price is debatable. He'd probably cost less than Young. So you're probably right.

It's a shame because really England should want their players to be at most top clubs. Instead they blast Arsenal for not having any English players but their record with money spent is brilliant for the quality of their squad.

haha i knew you'd approve;) yea nah i'm sweet with benzema!

Bosingwa to Chelsea for 16.2 million. A big risk and probably 4 mill too much but its not like money matters down that way. Its annoying cos hes ____ ugly. Looking at him for a whole year is bound to make Chelsea even more easy to hate

Its hard to say what else Chelsea really need. I think Malouda deserves a bit more of a go cos his late season form has been rather good. Another RW who isnt SWP would be handy I guess, a Shevchenko replacement and a Makele replacement. 3 players with 80 mil to spend.

Chelsea have apparently bid 50m Euros for Torres. LOL :D

Obviously they've been told to get ____ed. :thumbsu:

Some things money can't buy eh Roman?

HI-larious

He already rejected then when he was at AM anyway.

Yes and Santa Claus goes around the world and delivers presents to kids every Christmas.

Absolutely no way that Chelsea would even bother with that.

So the ':D' is on you.

And to think they were linked with Ramos.

I agree with you about all the Bosingwa stuff.

As for Malouda 'getting a go'....? I think not. Chelsea need to replace him with an overlapping, quick and creative left sided player.

Gotta laugh at the how much Chelesa have spent on fullbacks. From memory:

1. Ferreira- 13million
2. Bridge- 7 million
3. Ash Cole- 5mill + Gallas
4. Belletti -?cant remember
5. Boswinga- 16million

some fair sums in there, not to mention the wages those folks are no doubt on.

keep it up lads, you'll get it right eventually.

As for Utd, pleeeeeeeease don't get Michael Owen.

Ashley Coles been a good buy. Great player. Easily one of the best left backs in the world at full flight

Ferreira isn't worth 13 million but he's still been a handy player for them and he did play a key role in the second title in their clubs history.

And has been handy and somewhat reliable for them during periods of the previous three seasons.

His performance against Ronaldo in the FA Cup Final last season for example.

He's a good, steady defender. Nothing more.

Not worth the fee but there have been worse buys around the place.

And how was Ashley Cole a bad buy? He doesn't belong on that list.

Who knows with Bosingwa? Seems way too much though. Then again, who's seen him play much?

That wasn't a list of bad buys, it was a list of fullbacks that Chelsea have bought.

Ash Cole is excellent, however he hasn't really been much better than what Wayne Bridge was. Although Gallas wanted to leave and Bridge is often injured so that was a solid purchase.

In terms of where Chelsea can improve, it really depends on what formation style of play they want to adopt. If they continue to play the 4-5-1 come 4-3-3 formation then they really dont have any weaknesses, the only thing i can think of is some better performing wingers, Joe Cole has been excellent but Malouda and SWP havent done much this seaosn, but with Kalou coming through and the fact that it was Malouda's first season in the EPL you'd prob be sticking with what you have.

haha, not much better than Wayne Bridge?

Bridge is terrible and hasn't been a regular in four years.

The last/only time he was an important part of Chelsa's side was under Ranieri.

Under Mourinho the left backs were;

Gallas, del Horno, Ashley Cole.

Bridge is so bad at football.

Because of this he's one of the easiest subjects for discussion on this forum. And one of my favourites.

Also remember this isn't Grant's team.

He's still playing with Mourinho's players and with a blend of those it's hard to seperate completely from playing similarly to his way.

Fairly sure he was a bosman. Providing he's not on crazy money, you'd think it wasn't all bad!
I don't think he was.

And if he was only 3 million (I think he was more?) then he'd of been a good buy.

A somewhat competent defender with pinches of attacking quality.

Yeh i think Belletti was around 5million pounds. Whilst that on it's own isn't a lot, it's the wages of these players that makes their cost massive.
And there's only room for one set of curls at Chelsea.

He's a wannabe Carvalho.

There's only one set of curls that gets the girls at Chelsea.
