Make it a trifector to make it a transfer window to remember - Micah Richards to Manchester United.

As much as I hate to admit it, if Man Utd score their three main transfer targets this transfer window, they'll be scary scary scary good!

Daniel Alves, Luis Fabiano, Micah Richards :(

Even if we did sign them all, I wouldn't take anything for granted.

People said the same thing when we added RVN and Veron to our 00/01 title winning squad.

And Chelsea were supposed to be unbeatable when they added Cole, Shevchenko and Ballack to their squad after winning the 05/06 title.

I think I'd rather lose Richards than Dunne to be honest.

Dunne is the better defender right now, and at least if we sell Richards we will be getting a lot of Uncle Malcies greenbacks, and sending United further into a debt ridden abyss. Dunne goes, we lose a leader in defence, we get very little by way of money for him and I'll have to see one of my favourite players pull on that stinky white ____(eril) of a shirt.

Naturally if Micah is so silly I will be forced to hope that he breaks both of his legs.

If it wasn't only SSN I'd be really excited about the fact that Dos Santos is close to an 11m pound deal.

Please please be right.

Yeah I realise that, but you have gotta admit. Imposing would be an understatement!

one obvious problem.

you wouldn't get both Richards and Alves anyway.

so there's no chance of signing all three.

either or.

Mate, I hope that's the case. Man Utd are 'signing' Alves & Richards, we're stuck with Degen. Again, show's the lack of ambition at merseyside red! I'd take either of those players at Liverpool.

Shows the lack of $$$ more than anything.

Net spend will probably be in the negative.

Lack of $$$? And yet we can justify spending 12 mil on 3 avg players rather than one star player? If H & G really cared about the club like they claim they do, they'd pack it in and count their profits. They are not capable of delivering us the premiership, financially or otherwise!

Surely there isn't a lack of funds at Anfield. It's just that Rafa, or whoever is in charge of the signings, prefers to spread their transfers over a number of mediocre players. The one time they splurge out on an out and out superstar look what he does. Liverpool don't have that many holes to fill, just need to stop buying squad players.

Exactly what I'm getting at. What good is squad depth when you have 3 or 4 world-class players AT MOST. That's what I personaly don't understand!

If the powers that be don't start spending large sums on 1-2 players rather than small amounts on 6, the possibility of losing players like Steven Gerrard becomes a very strong one. He wants to bosses to show some ambition. We all want the bosses to show some ambition.

You aren't going to win championships with squad players. There's no possible way.

When you get outspent by Hull like we are going to, give me a call.

Granted, but we've got two teams in different situations. Like I said, Liverpool HAVE the money, just the conservatives running the club would rather spend the money on multiple players rather than one. Surely with the extra wages on the books, that proves more expensive anyway?

Yeah well that's what you get for blowing away all your money over the last two seasons.

Very harsh.

To be fair, I think if we get rid of ~5-7 players for a total between 10-15million and spend that on 2-3 replacements, the squad as a whole will be greatly improved.

The only way Liverpool can win the title is to get knocked out the FA Cup, League Cup, and Champions League as early as possible and just concentrate on the title.

Liverpool's best XI can cope against United, Chelsea, and Arsenal. The problem for Liverpool is that their squad players don't have the same quality as United and Chelsea (and this was the problem that hurt Arsenal). Liverpool simply aren't able to fight on more than one front.

The abscence of Becks from your signature offends me.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm not sure that Ronaldo should have his name next to Best, Robson, and Cantona. It's not a question of his ability or his performances. I just don't think he has the same love for United that the other three United legends have had.

As you were a strident supporter of the disastrous policies of the Eggy regime, I think it can be looked upon as a positive for the club if you're a tad disappointed with the level of spending under more sensible operators.

I don't think we need to spend big for our short term goals anyway, the squad is big and the first team (provided all fit..........) is quite strong.

Just need some suring up in certain areas, LW, RB and a spare striker better than Cole/Zamora wouldn't hurt or perhaps a creative midfield type. Other than that I am happy.

Need to ditch the crap though, of which there is alot.

By that criteria Beckham should be on there.

I think you and I have differing views about the circumstances behind his departure from United.

But with Ronaldo, at least he's honest about stating his desire to eventually play for Real Madrid.
