Rafa is a prick for doing that, I mean surely the fat man has a brain and knows Crouch is worth half that at best?

He knows he won't get 15m.

He can do much better than the 7m lowball we're getting from Portsmouth though. In fact I'd rather keep him and he can ____ off when we've got some money to spend on a replacement.

It's actually logical to demand an above average fee, to get a small increase on the offer, which is viewed as not enough. Hell, we'll be paying through the nose for Gareth Barry, who MON valued at 18m.

Crouch just wants 1st team football and Rafa would rather play him once every 5 games.

Rafa has been very, very good to Crouch. Lets not make any mistake about that.

At some point, he must have crossed him, because the relationship soured pretty quickly.

Doesn't help his cause that our best formation, that had great results, involved playing one up front.

He's willing to let him leave. Just for a fee he deems to be fair. In the current market, it's not unreasonable to expect 10m. In fact, for 10m he'd sell.

I think Crouchs wages at another club arnt being taken into account. If he came to a club on normal wages then sure 9 mill wouldne be too far off. Hes gonna go to a club and probably expect to be the highest earner there. I think thats gonna drive people away and really only leave Portsmouth in the chase.

Those 75K wages at Portsmouth are another reason he's moaning about not being sold I assume ;)

That's plenty more than he's on at Liverpool.

Crouch and Defoe would actually make a really good combination at Portsmouth IMO.

Itd be brilliant. Get a RW, LB and new CB in aswell and a top 6 finish shouldnt be too far off for them

With McBride gone I think its safe to say Zamora to Fulham will be back on. Hes been linked their alot of times before Hodgson came in though. Probably a ridiculous fee like 5 mill for him too. Hes exactly what they are after.
ahh his name is Sir Hodgson.

don't make the same mistake again.

Look, he probably could've played more, but this sort of attitude is probably why he hasn't.

Rafa & Liverpool have made his career. Bought him for a large fee from a relegated club, kept faith during his shocking scoring drought, got him an Ingerlund spot.

Now he's kicking up a stink over not being allowed to leave for a pissweak fee. Obviously no-one values him at 15m, but 10-11m is a fair price, all things considered, and the 15m valuation is only to prevent us from getting screwed

7m? Not likely, pal.

Rot in the reserves then, lose your precious England place.

This rather large chip on his shoulder shows what can happen when you spend too much time hanging about with the w***ers from the English NT. ;)

Agree with the last sentence, but Crouchzinho had broken into the England team before his move to Liverpool - he was still at Southampton. A bit unfair on the bloke, even allowing for my obvious bias.

So, the attitude of his agent affects how much he plays how....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any direct quotes from Crouch on the matter.

Hardly say they made his career.

Could've easily gone somewhere else and been just as good.

Yes, they've enhanced his career, but they certainly haven't made it.

Anymore and whoever pays it is getting ripped off (we probably will)

I think it's well known that he isn't happy sitting on the bench (sometimes not even that)

Understandable. He wants to play reguarly so he gets picked for England. Thats what he wants. That's fine.

The club are more than happy to sell him.

But he's under contract, a Liverpool player until the end of next season.

There's no reason for him to get narky/petty/"I'll show you" about it.

Maybe not made it. But "enhanced" it more than anyone could have ever imagined.

He didn't score for some ridiculous amount of time for us (20 hours?) and the faith was kept. Easily could have been shown the door. He's played in big games/competitions, that he never would have got the chance to experience anywhere else.

I can understand him wanting to leave. But he or his friends/agents/advisors should just STFU. He'll be sold when the valuation is met (and it isn't 15m)

Whose gonna pay that. 3 teams in the EPL I can see that would buy him

Bolton, Portsmouth, Boro. None whom I think have the money to spend on one player. Im actually surprised Crouch hasnt been at Liverpool long enough to buy his contract out....

Why us? I can't see us being interested atm. Southgate has already said we don't need strikers (unless we sell Mido which I doubt) and we'll be concentrating on getting midfielders. He's worth about 6 million imo.

Just got this off another forum site:

Word coming out of East London is that West Ham manager Alan Curbishley could be on the verge of what could be their biggest signing of the summer. Apparently Curbs is in the process of trying to bring some Serie A class to the squad by adding Fiorentina ace Adrian Mutu to an already-promising front line.

Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu is on the verge of signing for West Ham in a £16 million pound deal, after rejecting a new contract from Fiorentina last week. (various)

Who knows if the word coming out of East London is sound, but if this deal were to happen, it would be a massive signing for the Hammers. The Fiorentina striker has scored 17 goals in 26 appearances for the club this past season, and was instrumental in helping La Viola make the Champions League qualification round.

Have seen Kewell to Celtic mentioned a little in the past 24 hours. Apologies if already mentioned.

Would be a decent move for him. £40k a week being reported.

Would be a good move for him.

But Harry on 40K a week? Don't think so. He'll probably get more somewhere else, and he'll follow the coin ;)

There was speculation he was leaving Liverpool because of money issues, yet he and his manager have claimed it was because he has been told he wasn't considered regular first team material.

I guess a move to Celtic would say a lot about his current motives.

Mind you, 40k a week isn't to be sneezed at!!!!

Maybe it's because he isn't???

In coaching news Roberto Mancini and Henk ten Cate were both giving there official marching orders last night in their positions.

Some people seem to think it is for the money though.

Considering how Kewell and his manager screwed Leeds in the transfer to Liverpool, and pocketed a "signing on" fee, can you blame people for being cynical about Kewell's motives?

Bolton, Portsmouth, Boro.

Absolutely no way.

We have a good sized crop of strikers now we don't need to go adding a poo striker to that list.

15 mil is just ridiculous and selfish by Rafa. Even 5 mil is overs for the hack.

I'd rather spend my 5 mil on Chopra, Mido, Kenwyne Jones, Earnshaw, Alan Smith, etc etc.......

If we sign Crouch, even for free, i'll stop supporting the Boro.
