Quaresma has moved to Inter for £27m + a choice of 3 players.

____ing ridiculous. Very little end product and an absolute dickwad to boot.

More insane than the Adebayor rubbish.

Absolutely crazy money IMO, then to throw in a player (or as you are saying 3!) that is just getting beyond a joke.

Nah, just one player (a choice of 3).

Still the 27 million is ____ing crazy anyway.

Apparently we've been offered Julio Baptista, and we're considering making an offer.

Only thing being he's also been offered to other English and Italian clubs so we may not get him.

Be a good signing though :thumbsu:

Are you on crack? :p Don't you remember that idiot playing for us?

The Gruesome Twosome will both be in the north-east then. Never saw that one coming.

:p

He'd do well for us though... I think and also hope.

Look, it's been a rather slow period for us so I'm allowed to get excited at the news of signing someone :p

Terrible news for Thuram today...

“I am unfortunately holding this press conference not to confirm my move to PSG but announce that doctors detected a cardiac malformation.

"It seems that it is the same disease that my brother had a few years ago and which cost him his life on a basketball court.”

Lets hope he sticks around even if he isent able to play anymore. One of the best defenders over the last decade.

Kind of explains why he pulled out of the Italy match at late and ambiguous notice a fortnight ago.

Ha. Good luck with that one.

Huntelaar's contract talks with Ajax have stalled over the player wanting a release clause put in his contract but Ajax wanted to set it at 25 million euros of which Huntelaar thought was to high. Could he be off to Arsenal or Man Utd?? The player does still have 2 years on his current contract to run but we all know that is worth nothing!

Adebayor: I'll Play Like Henry When I'm Paid Like Henry

Emmanuel Adebayor Has Elaborated On His Arsenal Ultimatum, Insisting He Will Only Stay If The Club Pays Him As Much As They Paid Thierry Henry…

It Was Revealed Earlier This Week That Adebayor Is Demanding A Whopping 400 Per Cent Pay-rise, Which Would See His Weekly Wage Increase From ₤30,000 To ₤120,000.

The Togolese Striker Has Rejected The Gunners’ ₤60,000 Compromise And Appears To Be Edging Ever Close To An Emirates Exit This Summer, As The Higher-ups Are Losing Patience.

The 24-year-old Believes He Deserves To Be Paid As Much As Former Team-mate Henry Was, Insisting It Is A Logical Quandary As Much As Anything.

“People Ask If I’m Asking For The Same Salary As Henry,” He Told news Of The World. “that is not necessarily the question."

“But I am being considered a worthy replacement for Henry while not deserving his salary. The question lies on this level.

“Either Arsenal Give Me What I Want And I Stay Or They Don’t And I Leave.”

My loathing of Adebayor has hit a new high. What an absolute prick. Thierry was 10 times the player Adebayor will ever be.

Lampard to Inter is pretty much done it looks.

Can't stand him, but although he's linking up with a manager he's already worked with, credit to him for testing himself outside of England. Couldn't see many other Ingerlund players trying a foreign league.

Barry hits out at O'Neill
29 June 2008 | 11:20 - PA Sport

Gareth Barry remains desperate to join Liverpool and has blasted Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill for making no effort to persuade him to stay.

The England midfielder has made no secret of his desire for the regular UEFA Champions League football on offer at Anfield.

But despite his pleas to the Villa hierarchy to allow him to leave, the midlanders have remained entrenched and rejected a reported £15million ($A31.11million) bid from the Reds earlier this month.

Barry told the News of the World: "My mind's made up, I want to join Liverpool."

"There's no going back, it's time for me to move on. I'm desperate to play Champions League football and that's why I have to leave Villa."

O'Neill has been openly critical of Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez over his pursuit of the Villa skipper.

But despite O'Neill's public posturing, a scornful Barry insists nothing has been done to get him to remain at Villa Park.

"Villa kept saying they wanted me to stay but I have not heard from the manager for weeks," he claimed.

"It's seven weeks now since the season finished but while the gaffer's found time to be a pundit for the BBC at Euro 2008, he hasn't found the time to speak to me."

"Have Villa offered me anything to try to persuade me my future is at Villa Park, not Anfield? Not a thing."

Only a matter of time it seems.

Re Adebayor, if he wasn't happy with the contract he signed, he shouldn't have signed it. And I bet if he does get a payrise, and turns out shit he won't be offering to give any money back.

Re Barry, what a sook. Sick of footballers trying to justify why they want a move, and blaming everyone but themselves. I wonder if he's had the decency to lodge a formal transfer request and give up his "loyalty" bonus yet?

Adebayor said that he wants to be paid the same money Henry was on, THEN he'll perform at Henry's level

If he wants to be taken seriously, maybe he should stop demanding ridiculous sums of money, and instead perform on the pitch consistently before demanding such a wage increase.

That's almost as funny as Ronaldo's alleged, "United should let me go to Real Madrid to reward me for my loyalty" quote.

What's next? If we increase John O'Sheas wages ten times, will he start playing like Paolo Maldini?

Spot on with those points on player behaviour. :thumbsu:

I dont agree with moombas point on Adebayor. If your work output increases in any real job you get a payrise to match it. Its common sense. Work and produce more = get paid more. Arsenal should stop offering players insulting contracts like 50k a week and join us all in the real world. Hell even Sunderland would pay him 50k a year. Hes easily worth 80k a week despite peoples opinions on him.

Man United only making one signing according to Sir Alex. At a guess that has to be a striker seeming as Jonny Evans is gonna get a go at CB now Pique is gone

Barry has been very classless about his move to Liverpool. Even Bentley is showing more class then him and thats saying something.

You honestly think that clown is worth the same weekly wages as Thierry Heny?

Mad.

Nope but hes worth alot more then 30k your paying now and the 60k you want to offer him now too. Deserves 80k cos he did go a whole year at being stupidly underpaid. I dont really know why you fight it so much. Just give him what he wants. You dont want your club to become a selling club...

Alright Embers.

Give him what he wants? What a fine example that's setting.

Then Cesc would chime in, oh I want 100kpw, 'oh what? I can't have it, I'll just leave like Adebayor threatened to then'.

etc etc.

He wants 120k dont he? Meet him at 80 and let that be it. I wouldnt be surprised if Cesc already earns around 90k. If Arsenal wont pay Cesc 100k I know of ALOT of clubs that will. Thats the nature of the market im afraid. Arsenal gotta realise this. They spend nothing on transfers. They may aswell spend it on keeping the players they have.

Even Man United paid Wes Brown 60k. Wes is a good player but hes hardly more important to Man U as Adebayor is to Arsenal
