Robbie Keane deal very close to getting done for Liverpool. People are claiming he's due for his medical either today or tomorrow.

Would be quite funny if it was the case.

He's the heart and soul of Tottenham IMHO. Would be very surpsied they would sell him before Berbatov or Bent (and replace him with Luis Garcia).

I like what Ramos has done in the transfer market so far, but I think he's making a mistake here.

I agree, has been very good for Spurs and will be a big loss if he does go.

Fee and personal terms agreed. Medical is all that remains. :thumbsu:

Irish press are saying 17m (including substantial clauses)

Irish press the only ones in the World that have heard about it.

I doubt Liverpool have the money and I'm certain no fee has been agreed yet.

I'm confident we'd have enough for the portion of the fee to be paid up front.

5 of the best ITK's over about 4 or 5 different forums are saying exactly the same thing.

We'll see, but I'd be incredibly shocked if it didn't go through. And soon.

And Spurs are supposedly about to pocket 23m from Sunderland for four players: Younes Kaboul, Pascal Chimbonda, Teemu Tainio and Steed Malbranque.

Don't know where Spurs keep finding these mugs wanting to give many millions for many hundreds of thousands worth of talent.

When is this medical?

Spurs complain over duo
Clubs' interest in Keane and Berbatov elicits angry response

Liverpool and Manchester United have been reported to the Premier League by Tottenham Hotspur following their respective interest in Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov.

Spurs are unhappy with the conduct of their top-flight rivals following speculation linking Keane with a move to Anfield, and Berbatov with a switch to Old Trafford.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez has expressed his interest in Keane, while United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken of his optimism of concluding a deal for Berbatov.

However, Spurs have criticised the two clubs, with chairman Daniel Levy feeling they have to take the matter up with the Premier League.

Sheer arrogance
"Today's public comments by Manchester United's manager, announcing that he has made an offer for Dimitar and is confident that the deal will go through with time working in their favour, is a blatant example of sheer arrogance and interference with one of our players," said Levy in a statement on the club's official website.

"It is also probably one of the worst offences by any manager in the Premier League to date and is unbelievably hypocritical given his recent comments in respect of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid.

"This comes after a series of events, dating back to last summer, which have shown Manchester United to be in breach of Premier League (PL) rules. As a result, we have today made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Manchester United.

"Benitez made similar comments in respect of Robbie recently and we made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Liverpool earlier this week.

"The behaviour of both clubs has been disgraceful. We told both clubs very early on that we had no interest in selling Robbie or Dimitar, respectively, and that they should refrain from pursuing the player. Both clubs arrogantly chose to ignore this request and we now have evidence that both clubs have systematically been working to prise the players away from us, outside of PL rules of conduct.

Negative influence
"Our subsequent position has been severely compromised by both clubs making their intentions widely known and indeed making contact with the players and their agents, without the club's permission.

"I have absolutely no wish to sell either player and to date we have not accepted any offer for either. However, when a player's head is turned and their commitment is absent, particularly when they occupy key positions such as that of striker, they become a negative influence in a team dressing room in which they were once a positive addition and influence.

"This is the situation we now have on our hands, with both Dimitar and Robbie having made it clear that they wish to leave for Manchester Utd and Liverpool respectively.

"Irrespective of the outcome and futures of Robbie and Dimitar, we are continuing to seek to bring in quality, talented players for the future, who want to play in a Spurs shirt."

Not so sure that a fee for Robbie Keane has been agreed at this stage.
No doubt some will see this as the Pot calling the kettle black, given Spurs are one of the more active clubs within the transfer market year in year out.
I think its the quoting in the press prior to agreements being made especially the naming of players, that makes these different.
Please don't bother with the Bostock example it is completely different when someone is a 'free agent'.

No surprise to see the Yids selling Keane, after all it is Tottenham we're talking about here :D .

I'm sure if the Big 4 came knocking that the Hammers would be able to retain any player.

In fact lets just see if you can retain Lucas Neil away from a mid-table club like Citeh (if they really want him) ............ such is the pull/power of the Hammers.

Nice to finally see someone stick up for themselves against these cheating scumbags. Both clubs Man United, Liverpool break the rules on nearly every single transfer they conduct nowadays. West Ham chief was quoted at out last fans forum as saying he had more then enough evidence to get both Man United and Liverpool done for tapping up amongst other things but chose not to dob as he didnt want to ruin the relationship between our sides.

Nice to see Levy stick up for his side. My respect for Tottenham went up tenfold (from 0 to 1). :thumbsu:

I think if Neill goes it will be because we want to sell him as opposed to him demanding to leave.

Behrami was at our pre season friendly and we agreed a 5 million euros fee for him yesterday. Should be done on Monday. Sounds like he chose us because we were willing to agree a fee with Lazio were as the rest wanted him to buy his contract out.
