Don't you think everyone is missing the point here, how about some sympathy for me FFS. :(
No sympathy unless we sign Alan Smith, then you can get some sympathy from me... However at the moment its laughter.

Not really. Atleast im assuming replacements are coming in. Most other information suggests no one is coming in. Infact im being positive by suggesting two loan signings are coming in to replace Anton and co.

Heh, fair enough, we are just going to have to disagree and let things play out ;)

BTW, I happen to think Curbs getting the flick ain't a bad thing, but only provided we get a continental manager, I am over us playing hoofball, we had it under Pardew before he got the flick and Curbs has not once shown the sort of football I want to see West Ham play.

I dont mind a new manager coming in either but not under these circumstances. Who in there right ****ing mind would take over and do better then Curbs? Billic HAH. Hes gonna abandon his Croatia job take a paycut to run a club with -20 mill in purchases this season.

As I said if Curbs goes the best we can hope for is Chris Coleman. A Alan Curbishley for Chris Coleman replacement is pointless. Coleman aint that much better

You do know Bilic is paid **** all with Croatia right? Yes he recently got a pay increase, but it is still a job that does not pay well at all.

We dont even pay our starting CBS 15 000 a week.... Im not expecting Billic to be offered a big money deal

IMO sacking the manager at this stage is like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. Hes not the main problem here. The biggest problem is our useless board.

15k a week? Bilic is on way way less than that...

Bilic signs new Croatia contract

Croatia have beaten off reported interest from top clubs to secure the coaching services of Slaven Bilic for an extra two years, Croatian football federation (HNS) president Vlatko Markovic said on Monday.

Bilic led Croatia through qualifying for the UEFA EURO 2008 finals where they will meet co-hosts Austria, Germany and Poland. Now Markovic wants the former international defender to continue working his magic up to South Africa's hosting of the 2010 World Cup.

"We're delighted that Slaven and his assistants are staying," said Markovic after Bilic put pen to paper on a new deal which some reports claim sees him double his current salary to 10,000 euros (15,473 USD) net a month.

Bilic has been assisted since 2006 by former international teammates Aljosa Asanovic, Nikola Jurcevic and Robert Prosinecki - all of whom have been given new deals.

"They're done a perfect job up till now," added Markovic. "I'm sure they will continue to ruffle feathers in the next two years."

Bilic last month rejected an offer to succeed Dutchman Huub Stevens as coach of Bundesliga side Hamburg, despite being offered a "fantastic" deal - according to Bilic.

The former West Ham and Everton defender, who has said he would love to coach in the Premier League, had also reportedly been approached by English clubs such as Fulham, and French first division strugglers Paris Saint Germain.

Hes getting screwed more then the West Ham fans then

Kinda, the Croatia job is one of him wanting to do it, rather than the financial rewards, he has been able to create his team there with a pretty talented group...

His future earnings are assured because of the quality of job he has done there :)

Club statement on Bellamy
West Ham United have issued a statement making clear the club's position on Craig Bellamy

West Ham United CEO Scott Duxbury said: "West Ham United have absolutely no intention of selling Craig Bellamy. He is under contract and is committed to the club. Craig remains a very important part of our plans for the future.

"The club is being run on sound football and business principles in order to develop a squad which can deliver success this season. No player would be bought or sold unless that helped to achieve that aim.

"We are not interested in selling players who are committed to the club and essential to our first-team squad.

"If a player refuses to sign a new contract or is not crucial to the manager's plans then we will look at offers on a case by case basis. It is the only sensible way to build for the future.

"We have invested in players this summer identified by the manager who add to the quality of the squad and we will continue to do so as and when appropriate."

The club did not do that for Ferdinand from memory...

Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL have agreed a fee with Espanyol to sign Spanish winger Albert Riera.

The two clubs held talks last night and agreed a compromise figure in excess of £8m, after Riera informed the Espanyol hierarchy he was only interested in moving to Anfield.

That dashed Everton's hopes of hijacking the deal, despite the fact that Liverpool's Merseyside rivals had made a higher offer for the 26-year-old.
The Reds' urgent need for a left sided midfield player was again apparent at the weekend as Yossi Benayoun again struggled in that role before being replaced by Ryan Babel.

With the Dutchman preferring to operate in a more central position, Rafa Benitez identified Riera as the player he wanted to give his side some much needed width.

The former Manchester City man will now have to agree terms with Liverpool and undergo a medical before he is confirmed as a Liverpool player.

But his signing could be concluded before the end of the week as long as there are no late hitches.

I have no idea why Everton put in such a bid for Riera he is not that good. We should have nipped transfers early in the bud on players like Fernandes. Instead they spent the time twiddling their thumbs.

He doesn't get the nickname Dithering Dave for no reason.

How many scouting reports have you got on him? A few less than Moyes and Benitez I would've thought ;)

Apparantly he's been very good for Espanyol.

8m in todays market? pittance, really when compared to players in the same position. ie. Downing who would cost more than double that. Or Ashley Young who would be four times as much.

You're good at doing backflips, bus.

I've lost track of the number of times you've talked about 8m being 'steep'.

Even the recent Anton Ferdinand thing, you're going on about how 8m is a good fee, but yet, you just said it's pittance.

Make up your mind ;)

Have I?

I don't remember anything like that.

When we were first linked it sounded like the fee would be upwards of 10. The Espanyol came out demanding 19m. I might have said that was steep (or insane)

Pittance for a decent attacking player, especially a wide player. We know how much anyone who can actually perform in wide positions goes for.

Compared to nothing more than an average centre half.

It's all relative.

Was he rubbish at City?

Wasn't rubbish, but a bit of a luxury player in a team that couldn't affor a luxury player. Was good (no more than that though) going forward, has a decent cross and can run past a defender. Couldn't be arsed tracking back or defending, and in my view I thought £3m was too much when we had the chance to sign him on a permanent deal after his loan spell.

I know he improved a lot in Spain, how much of that is down to him being more suited to that league remains to be seen. Martin Petrov is a 500% improvement on Riera though and I suspect he'll be a bust at the scousers.
