city don't have a better squad than Arsenal.

arsenal have a better defence, midfield, attack and system.

it's not that easy.

Johnson, Ireland, Hamann, and Fernandes are all better than the useless shite Cesc is forced to play with. Not to mention Elano, Wright-Philips and Robinho would easily get into our team and Richards and Dunne are no worse than Toure or Gallas.

moomba mate are you excited or what? i'd be ecstatic with those signings as a barca fan let alone a man city one.. (don't mean to be arrogant but lets be honest nobody would expect city to make such big signings! good on em'.. City > Arsenal i'm thinking...

Extremely excited. And while Shinawatra gave us all the idea that we might ride above mid table sort of stuff there always was the feeling it could go **** up. With this mob I don't get that feeling (which means it probably will go **** up).

As for top 4, I don't us there yet unless we spend again in January. Liverpool are the club that I'd be targetting though, I think they're more vulnerable than Arsenal.

AJAX PERPLEXED BY LATE HUNTELAAR BIDS
Ajax have reacted with bewilderment to two last-minute bids for star striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The 25-year-old has been consistently linked with a move away from the Amsterdam ArenA this summer, despite the club's reluctance to sell.

And they were surprised to receive a pair of enquiries, from clubs reportedly willing to pay in the region of 40million euros, just minutes before the closure of the transfer window on Monday night.

"We were perplexed," said technical director Danny Blind. "A last-minute transfer of Huntelaar was clearly a no-no for us.

"Those two clubs got that response from us.

"I must say that it was just a phone call. You would have had to wait and see if the offer would have lived up to that on paper."

Huntelaar's agent Arnold Oosterveer was also surprised by the manner of the interest in his player.

"I told the involved clubs that called me to go to Ajax, knowing that it was too late to do something with this," he told AD Sportwereld.

"Ajax have been very clear about it. It's really unbelievable to be confronted by this at the very last minute."

Tottenham.

Real Madrid.

Maybe City, but doubtful.

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admits he can not fully understand Robinho's decision to leave the Spanish champions for Manchester City.

I think he should be honoured.

What a great opportunity to be involved in a big deal!

A record breaker in fact. Congrats to Real!

Real also made a late bid for David Villa.

I just don't get it. You have a transfer window that is open for about two months, and all these deals get left until the final day.

Imagine the call between Ramon Calderon and Danny Blind

Calderon "Danny Blind? Ramon Calerdon from Real Madrid here. Can you send that Huntelaar bloke down to us and we'll send a cheque up to you"

Blind "What the ****?"

Calderon "It's Real Madrid. You should be honoured to sell him to us"

Blind "But it's 11.50pm, there's ten minutes left in the transfer window, you've had two months to bid for him, and since you haven't, we've now got our club's plans set around having Huntelaar playing for us. And how the **** are we going to get a replacement with just ten minutes left"

Calderon "Hey, did you hear me? This is Real Madrid. Sell him to us"

Blind "No. You've had two months and done **** all. So go away"

Calderon "Hello! Real Madrid! If you don't sell him to us, we'll get Marca onto you!"

Blind "Is that the time? Transfer window is closed"

Calderon "No. It's Real Madrid. UEFA and FIFA will keep the window open for us.

Phone line goes dead as Blind hangs up

Calderon "Hello? Anyone there? Please, I just want to order one Huntelaar to go. Hello? Are you still there? Anyone?"

Also.........

1144: Blackburn boss Paul Ince missed out on a major deadline day signing at the 11th hour, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

I wonder who that was.....

Oh..... shit! :(

Someone should turn the lights out on the premiership now. It's become a farce. What is the point in competing against a team with unlimited supply of cash? What a joke.

If it was Tottenham, I wouldn't feel good about it. I heard a good analogy earlier. Man City are like the gold digging wife who snares herself a rich man. She has all the trappings, a Mercedes, diamonds, fur coats etc, but her friends know she did it all off her husbands back (and lying on her back!). This is the definition of Manchester bloody City.

RIP the Prem

Im surprised moomba is so happy about it given how much of a critic he is of Chelsea. Double standards and all that

I'm bashing Calderon rather than Real Madrid.

If I can get a few minutes, I might do one taking the piss out of Daniel Levy's negotiating style.

Calderon just thinks he can say anything and since he and the club are so "big" there won't be consequences. Which is obviously wrong. He needs an injection of humbleness.

He has done well though to get rid of Robinho at the last minute who was obviously going to be a pain in the ass if he stayed, to a club that won't be competing with us this year in the champions league and to get a nice injection of coin into the back pocket.

I just read this from a Real fan:
Despite his attitude lately, i don't share any of the hatred by some of the Madrid fans. He did leave for money but only after our management, the idiots they are, completly shafted him. He was promised a new contract for over a year, he was in the lesser paid 50% in the club (Saviola was getting more then him!!!), and our management gave him the boot and expected him to take it and accept it. He didn't.

Calderon's a fool. There's a doco showing on National Geographic every now and then that shows how Barcelona is being run by about 20 people, while Real is ruled by 1 dictator. I think you need a change.
