Im surprised moomba is so happy about it given how much of a critic he is of Chelsea. Double standards and all that
Totally. What a hypocrite![]()
If it was Tottenham, I wouldn't feel good about it. I heard a good analogy earlier. Man City are like the gold digging wife who snares herself a rich man. She has all the trappings, a Mercedes, diamonds, fur coats etc, but her friends know she did it all off her husbands back (and lying on her back!). This is the definition of Manchester bloody City.
If I can get a few minutes, I might do one taking the piss out of Daniel Levy's negotiating style.

Everyone will be happy apart from all of Manchester United's supporters who would still be around without a club to support.![]()
.post of the day. (from yesterday)And still fascist bastards.
rubbish.Im surprised moomba is so happy about it given how much of a critic he is of Chelsea. Double standards and all that
rubbish.
moomba has stuck up for chelsea in the past.
secondly only to me.
do you just make things up on the spot?

Yeah, despite the "Real" in the team name Sporting tends to have a more lefty base. Real Oviedo are more the other way. Stems from the history of the two cities, there's a deep-seated aggro there because Oviedo is the Asturian capital and a posher town than industrial Gijón. And of course the civil war and that, doesn't take a genius to work out which town was on which side.Commies can be racist too you know.
Then do one on the old soak SAF. Don't forget the familiar drunken hiccups & bottles of red being uncorked in the background.
Paid above the price that had been original asked after all.
Someone should turn the lights out on the premiership now. It's become a farce. What is the point in competing against a team with unlimited supply of cash? What a joke.

Calderon just thinks he can say anything and since he and the club are so "big" there won't be consequences. Which is obviously wrong. He needs an injection of humbleness.
He has done well though to get rid of Robinho at the last minute who was obviously going to be a pain in the ass if he stayed, to a club that won't be competing with us this year in the champions league and to get a nice injection of coin into the back pocket.

No excuse whatsoever for the racist abuse. But I don't think it's a coincidence that the first day anything like this ever happens at Gijón is the first day they're playing in the top flight. Loads of people who don't normally go and don't have a clue about anything turning up (so, your typical day at Old Trafford then fnar fnar).
The rest are just shitty biographies by playboys.Jo - Tall, lanky, fast, excellent close control, deadly finisher: Remind you of anybody?
I haven't read it myself, but this is meant to be a magnificent book about Spanish football.

Morbo: The Story of Spanish Footballby Phil Ball
Again, been meaning to read it for years but haven't. Next on the pile after the Gainsbourg I thinkYeah, I've heard of that but haven't ever read it. The books on German and Italian fotoball - Tor! and Calcio respectively - are quite good. I've read the Italian one.
What a rarity to find a half decent football book these days that wasn't written by a hooligan. The rest are just shitty biographies by playboys.

central midfield depth? haha.It wont happen overnight, but you can sense the envy in alot of the opposing camps with the Man City news.
They have an excellent base now to build on, with some very very talented young players, and a couple of world class experienced players (see Elano and Robinho).
Kompany - is an exceptional talent, increadible on the ball for a defender, pace to burn.
Zabaleta - Quality Left Back. Argie International
Riachards - Could be anything
Jo - Tall, lanky, fast, excellent close control, deadly finisher: Remind you of anybody?
LB, central defender and some central midfield depth would be on Mark Hughes' wish list.
Kolarov
Chiellini
Taiwo
Hamsik
Moutinho
Veloso
oh and I can't believe so many people on here read books.Again, been meaning to read it for years but haven't. Next on the pile after the Gainsbourg I think
