Transgender - Part 2

Please be aware that the tolerance of anti-trans language on BF is at an all-time low. Jokes and insults that are trans-related, as well as anti-trans and bigoted rhetoric will be met with infractions, threadbans etc as required. It's a sensitive (and important) topic, so behave like well-mannered adults when discussing it, PARTICULARLY when disagreeing. This equally applies across the whole site.

It was written by afl media??

The IOC is entitled to do whatever it wants, I just hope they're listening to sports scientists in making their decision. Regardless, it doesn't justify the harassment of trans athletes in youth and school competitions, as increasingly happens in the US and possibly here too.
I don't think it should be entitled to do what it wants in this regard - not without data and scientific facts to bear out its judgements anyway.

What authority will hold them to account?
A good question - if it can be made a human rights issue the International Court of Justice as overseen by the United Nations might be an avenue of appeal.

Come to think of it, why aren't the Olympics (as the 'world games') overseen by the United Nations?

I'm glad it doesn't work for me then. News.com.au is also a scam website. They use companies that offer scam products and services.

I've sent them communications to remove these off their website in the past but received no reply.

I hardly ever click on their links.
Ok

We had this discussion at the time.

Can't recall the details.

What I do recall is the most vocal anti-trans competitor in the US swimming issue at the time went on to try and make a profile out of it with the far-right, turn it into a pay day.
Kram you dropped a lol react on this old post.

Care to elaborate?

They also plug a lot of their own content within news stories. Realestate has the most blatant clickbait articles you'll ever find.

Id like to add, there is a THING where people are criticizing women who look manly, calling them Trans or C@@@ in a frock.
Heard this just the other day and have been seeing posts online about the same topic.

It's technically not trans, but the discrimination is related, I guess.

Which is unsettling and shocking to say the least, the amount of judgment is really getting a bit much.

Nikki Hiltz cops it constantly from the very obviously uninformed internet cohort.

It was the logical extension of the “transvestigation” culture fostered by the JK Rowling types. If a woman doesn’t look feminine enough she should be attacked

Just a reminder on Jimmy Carr's (paraphrased) "I ****ing love Graham Linehan... it's easy to talk about trans people now but he was so brave early on, losing his family and his career for his beliefs... I love the guy" etc etc

On your little safe space? Flanked by your team of hand selected yes men?

Real brave.

Yeah no.

That's why thread and board in general is pretty much dead.
As expected. Drive-by react and no substance. Blames everyone else for it.

Chief gives them a voucher from Hugo Boss for their official 'Yes Man' uniforms! Of course the voucher always falls ten dollars short of actual cost...
I get paid in coke and rent boys directly from George Soros.

Getting back to the war, and it IS fast becoming a war, the United States has issued an edict stating that Diversity, Equality and Inclusion are abuses of "rights given to us by God our creator, not government".

Historically nations noted by the U.S as human rights abusers have faced varied diplomatic pressures or even been placed under economic sanctions.

I've cut it into excerpts and linked to the original for context;

November 21, 2025

Countries enforcing race or gender diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies will now be at risk of the Trump administration deeming them as infringing on human rights.

The State Department is issuing the new rules to all US embassies and consulates involved in compiling its annual report on global human rights abuses.A senior State Department official said the new rules were "a tool to change the behaviour of governments..."

...DEI policies were designed with the objective of improving outcomes for specific racial and identity-based groups. Since assuming office, US President Donald Trump has aggressively sought to terminate DEI and restore what he calls merit-based opportunity in the US.

The senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: "The United States remains committed to the Declaration of Independence's recognition that all men are endowed by the Creator with certain unalienable rights."

The official added that rights were "given to us by God, our creator, not by governments".

Other policies by foreign governments which US embassies will be told to categorise as human rights infringements include:

  • Subsidising abortions, "as well as the total estimated number of annual abortions"
  • Gender-transition surgery for children, defined by the state department as "operations involving chemical or surgical mutilation... to modify their sex"
  • Facilitating mass or illegal migration "across a country's territory into other countries"
  • Arrests or "official investigations or warnings for speech" - a reference to the Trump administration's opposition to internet safety laws adopted by some European countries to deter online hate speech...

...He said: "The Trump administration will not allow these human rights violations, such as the mutilation of children, laws that infringe on free speech, and racially discriminatory employment practices, to go unchecked."

He added: "Enough is enough..."

(Uzra Zeya, a former senior State Department official, said that...) the new instructions excluded the rights of "women, LGBTQI+ persons, religious and ethnic minorities, and non-believers - all of whom enjoy equal rights under US and international law, despite the meandering and obtuse rights rhetoric of the Trump Administration".

The new rules conveyed "jaw-dropping" animosity towards LGBTQI+ people, Ms Zeya added...

What this will mean for nations who recognise transgender people as human beings with human rights will become apparent as the law rolls out.

It doesn't look good.
