By all means im not saying dump 10 players and just through away the season , rebuild etc etc.
We are in R4 now and im not agreeing with the the slow start shit and never did but like I said ROK , LRT , Shaw maybe on there last legs.
Should we start blooding a few of the younger players and getting them ready for the future as lets be honest guys we are not going to win the FLAG , players that are week in week out in the best in the 2s ala Biggs , Robinson etc etc.
We seriously cannot afford to carry blokes as much as I love ROK , Shaw etc and if we decide to carry them we are only holding the development of he younger guys.

To be fair it is not just the older guys. A few need a reality check.

Doesn't mean a thing though if the tactics don't change.

Having different player do the same thing is pointless.

Those guys in the wings- Jack, Towers, Biggs, Jones.

Some have played in prelim finals, shown real signs.

If they play, they will evolve the game plan and playing moral Punts.

Don't despair.

These players all have elite speed, hopefully towers, jack and Biggs have endurance for repeat games.

Would be in my best 22 and have qualities to evolve our gameplan

I didn't think LRT was that bad today, I think he offers us some good versatility (backup ruck etc) which still makes him a useful part of the team. Shaw and ROK are looking on their last legs though and I think they're spending so much energy just trying to survive the running that their skills are greatly diminished. I thought the likes of B Jack etc. looked good last year. We should be bringing them through.

The biggest worry for me though is Hanners. He looks seriously ropey at the moment

More worrying is that the first month of the season was considered relatively easy for us and we are 1-3 with Freo next week..

We still have to play Hawthorn 2x, Essendon 2x, Port 2x.
Our next 6 games includes Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn, Essendon (and 2 easy wins in Melbourne and Brisbane).

Strong chance of being 3-7

Would not give a stuff is we loose more games playing a few young guys and Horse working on a new game plan , as long as they were showing signs because atm watching Shaw , ROK declining it not good viewing and Horse looks lost as each game goes on

That would mean throwing the season away after 4 rounds. Horse has to play the strongest team in the next 8-10 rounds, not take risks on too many young players if they are not in the best 22.

If it becomes obvious the season is lost, THEN play the young guys.

Hungry and inspired youth that can impact at the top level is an essential part of a winning team.

Young and fast is no good if you cant play football

These kids are already match winners in the NEAFL, Towers, Jack and Biggs in particular. Direct replacements with speed and hunger that are made for the modern game and Longmires gameplan.
