needs to be used in the role that landed him 2 X all australians - Inside Mid/Centre Square.

F**K of this idea about playing across half forward or on a wing…when used properly, back a few years ago was a top 10 player, barley top 100 in his current role.

Give Wines the captaincy and trav his old role back and he should be back to his very best !

He's not been used to his strengths. And he's not able able to either step up that extra gear or throw himself physically into it, when a Captains leadership is required. He should be in the side, but he's not captain material anymore. Harsh, but pussy footing around the issues like this is why we can't win close games. He either stands aside or Ken grows a set and taps him on the shoulder.

Hopefully it's a captain/coach change.

Captain's come to the forefront in close games and the fact is we have won zero of our last 10 games decided by under 2 goals and lost 17/20 by similar margins in the past 4 years. We need new leadership. Simple.

I keep hearing"oh we'll learn from it..."

Simple fact is we haven't. I'm glad Nicks said this on 5aa today coz Ken hasn't but I guess he's focused on his own endeavours these days and positivity is his company line at the moment.

I'm not sure I have ever seen a gun player lose their composure like Boak has.

In 2014 he'd have been my first pick to take a set shot after the siren to win us a game. Not because he was the worlds greatest kick but because you knew he would make the moment his. These days it would be like watching Daniel Motlop II.

Trav will forever be a legend at this club. Could have walked as the club nearly died. Committed and gave us the first good news in a dark period. However, he's run his race as Captain. Time to hand over to Ollie. I wish Ken would play him in his natural position though.

Boak may not be at his best but he still goes alright and he is the least of our problems

He's one of our bigger problems. He keeps displaying poor skills as if he's exempt from improvement and even found a reason to joke about his poor kicking in Shanghai. On his morning radio time he regurgitates the same message as Hinkley sounding like he borrows opinions and sprouts that everything is fine and all are doing a good job, not forgetting to remind us that they're all working hard at it.

I think the fact that we're crying out for our captain to carry the team across the line in these close games says more about our entire leadership group than it does about Travis.

If everyone in the team lifted their work rate in the dying minutes and got us over the line, took their chances and kicked goals they should kick, we wouldn't be crying for him to hand over the captaincy.

Handing it over to Ollie isn't going to fix our workrate, attitude, decision making and questionable structure. That's up to Ken and the rest of the team. I wouldn't be surprised if Trav is fed up with trying to carry the team on his shoulders.

Travis Trump?

After 13 and 14 I believed Boak was going to lead us to success and unfortunately it is disappointing that he's fallen away rapidly. He has to awaken and rebound or offer to step aside no matter how loyal or good of a guy he is. It's the nature of the competition and the future of the club is number one.

He's become a liability on match day, his decline as a player is hard to watch, his fan boys come out with the usual crap when anyone dares to criticise him, how he deserves more respect blah, blah, blah. No sorry, he's a highly paid professional sportsman who has stunk it up for a long time now - his credits have expired long ago. Fact is our team would be better with him not in it. The team should always come before any individual including Boak.

Simply put, we still do not have enough high end talent. All these leader campaigners, should be $300-350k players - no more.

We are short a gun key forward (like Buddy) A gun midfielder (like Dusty or Fyfe) and a gun tall running defender (like Rance)

All teams would be short of all 3 mate possibly would only have 1.

yep

like trengove, boak is not a fair weather friend of the club. both are legends for their club services and will always be remembered for this.

I think discussion of retirement is crazily premature.

I hate his current role and I want to see him back in the guts. I can only think that it's a durability issue?

Give Wines the captaincy now IMO. Boak can still be an incredibly damaging player for us. Put him as a centre square mid where he can exert that influence.
