i know his kicking isnt great, but this guy is so important to us! he works so hard, and his last two weeks have been dominant! he is the key to us later in the year!!

ps. he is now 3rd in the marks in the afl, behind gilbert and brown, with gilbert 62, im tipping 58 of them are uncontested junk time marks!!

he's doing us proud!

Gee it must be nice for Trav to take a mark at centre half forward these days and know he has another big target up forward if needed.
Definately better as a player when not the total focus point,is far more destructive.
He will really butcher a side one of these days. Keep it up Clokey.

It's something that I have mentioned a fair bit in regards to Dawes but it goes ditto for Cloke there is no coincedence that he has found really solid form in games with lots of space to lead into high up the ground. We know he is fantastic at this. He needs to be more effective when there isn't that space because there won't be often.

That said there have been some signs that I have really liked from Trav in the last two weeks. 1 is Trav playing deeper and being effective really solid in contests and willing to out body a defender and mark and then this week taking marks 60-70 out and turning and looking for a short pass rather then bombing long, more impressive is that he was hitting short targets well.

I prefer Dawes to be honest. Seems to play Cloke's role a touch better.

Has really added that "missing string" to his bow has Trav and by that I mean an ability to take strong marks close to goal.

It just makes him much more dangerous because we know he has the high CHF role ability but now he is also beginning to convert his chances too deep in attack.

For him to be ranked 3rd in the comp for marks as a CHF is an awesome stat in a game dominated by uncontested marking by smaller players playing loose around the back half.

I've always liked him, just hard to not get a bit disappointed in him from time to time.

Where would people rate him if his kicking was like Johnathon Browns?

A future Brownlow medalist.

But neither things are going to happen.

These two points really stood out to me too. I've been frustrated for years that Cloke has not been played deep more often. Now that he is, he seems to be much more dangerous as a goalscoring option. I think Dawes ability to play further up the ground - where Anthony hasn't - has allowed this to happen for Cloke.

I was also really pleased to see Cloke lower his vision and look for the best option instead of bombing long. When he kicked long it was the right option and he executed the pass well. But he also looked for the short pass - the pass to Wellingham for his setshot was really pleasing to see. I was expecting him to kick long but he spotted up Wellingham and executed the short pass perfectly.
