He would be cheaper than dangerfield, both in terms of what we would have to give up for him and what we would have to pay him. He also said that he is not happy with his development at port, and maybe a switch to the dees would see an improvement in his development and consistency.

I'm sure our current coaching group could convince any potential recruit that we could develop them effectively.

But at the moment we aren't exactly known for our ability to develop players. But as discussed in the Misson thread, this is all changing at our club.

Whilst I agree that Boak is not as dynamic as Dangerfield he is still a class footballer who has cut us a few times. Consistency is definitely an issue for him but he is only still only 23.

If he came at the right price he'd be great. But would you give up one of our top three draft picks for him or would you take your chances in the draft? I don't know.

Good points mate. I would be happy to give our third first rounder for him and possibly a player if we had someone that interested Port and he wasn't too important to our list going forward. Who that is I have no idea.

But I think our first two picks are well and truly off limits. Boak would add some class but I think would be plan B in terms of midfielders behind Dangerfield. Wouldn't be unhappy at all to land Boak though as I think in the end there is more chance of him coming back to Vic than there is of Dangerfield coming home.

Boak would be handy but is he the sort of player we need? He is a good player but I don't think he reaches great on a consistent basis. He doesn't have the X factor of, say, a Dangerfield that would set him apart in our workman like midfield.

He isn't Danger, but you wouldn't say no to him coming on board when your major insiders (who don't play anywhere else) are Moloney and a couple of mature rookies.

Boak is a specialist mid with (IMO) his best still in front of him. That gives him a fair amount of currency coming to a team like us.

If one of the reasons he is frustrated at Port is lack of personal development then there are other teams ahead of us on that front but we're closing the gap IMO.

Facilities are good, head coach and support staff are good and we still have some more tinkering to do this off season wrt personell. He'd be on decent dough at Melbourne as well you'd imagine so he's definitely worth an inquiry.

Jack Viney will be a better player than Dangerfield, possibly as early as Round 1 2013.

I dont think most MFC supporters realise how good Viney truly is.

Our midfield will be fine.. im all for the club chasing a star KPP.

You're ****ing dreaming mate.

So a few picks in the draft and Cloke makes a list that can't win a game complete?

Long way to go before we reach that mark I'm afraid. The above will help but it will certainly not be complete.

I know it sounds strange when we are getting done by 15 goals each week - but I honestly think its about our core group being young more than us not having any talent.

Throw a legitimate power forward and 4 first round draft picks into any side and they'll be looking good.

Its not about your core group being young.

Its not about a legitimate power forward and four first round picks, either - Mitch Davis. Jack Watts. Colin Sylvia. Jack Trengrove. Jack Watts.

Its about heart and effort. And if people wearing a blue and red jumper arent prepared to show one and put forth the other, then they need to play for Casey for a bit prior to being delisted.

The game plan Neeld is playing is boring, ugly and lets you play much better than your skill level says you should. But it absolutely relies on the playing group showing heart, commitment and a hunger for the ball.

As much as I'd love a bonafide star at our club, I actually doubt even Cloke could fire when we get half the inside 50s than our opponents each week.

Fix the midfield asap.

Mitch Davis and the Watts twins for the win....

The young players are trying, they have no senior leaders

that is the core of the problem

And has been said, it's Mitch Clark

Cloke would look at our millions and just laugh! "Do I look like a party animal?"

We would reply with
'No, but you and your dad, er, I mean manager love money'

To which Clokes dad would reply with
'Son, sign that contract because I'm putting your board up in price'

Bad luck guys.

Cloke is staying at Collingwood.

What, according to a few meetings? When he signs on the dotted line he is staying.

Anyone think Travis Cloke asking for 1mil a year is excessive.

Rumoured Collingwood would sign him at 800k is staggering too.

i thought Mitch Clarks 600-700k was too much but considering his form and what it takes to get players across, i'll cop that.

Pendlebury is worth every bit 800k even a mil but Cloke?

Must need some creative salary juggling.

Its all relevant, to get a player like Cloke across will cost a 1Million, but you cant afford to pay him that ina premiership team like Collingwood.

Our team as a whole will be 1 Million dollars worse than Collingwoods so we can afford to pay stars 1M to switch, otherwise we are paying junk players extra
