Game went past him, he didn't keep up.Sorry for the intrusion to your board, I come in peace. I am a big fan of Grundy and although I don't like any other team Collingwood are well down the list of my most hated.
Anyway, let's get down to business. Halfway through the season I'm firmly in the 'Cloke is cooked' camp. He does not fit in with our gamestyle at all. His forward pressure isn't enough. He can't take enough grabs to link our attacking chains or help our (frankly pathetic) forward 50 entries. He's no better a back up ruck than players 5cm smaller. He might kick 2 goals a game here and there but they'll be spectacular bombs outside 50 that lift the crowd but don't do much else. His second efforts are weak, he looks like he'd rather someone else did the work.
The reason I'm here is to ask what went wrong ? How did a bloke go from AA premiership forward to cooked before his 30th birthday without serious injury?
I really want to him to play VFL the rest of the year. Nothing personal, seems like a lovely bloke , but footy has passed him by.
Would any of you have him back at the Pies? That's a serious question Btw, I realise we aren't going to get a refund after 30 days

You mean Bevo and his bevoness hasnt transformed him.The game stops cold no matter where he is on the field, he'll take 10 to 20 seconds to move it on even if he's up field, he's a game plan killer.
Seems like the emperor might be a little underdressed this yearYou mean Bevo and his bevoness hasnt transformed him.
Say it ain't so.
That be true.Seems like the emperor might be a little underdressed this year
That be true.
No doubt he's a good coach,as many are, but all the little marbles fell for him last finals campaign.
Good luck to them, but unsure it was a vintage year. But they did it.
But he's become Bevo now.
Cloke to Dogs is a story that won't be told until September. If he can play the CHF role and be a good target, and kick straight, he could be very important for the Dogs in tight finals when a tall option is needed and just one deep isn't enough but he has to win his spot first and the perform when he does. There's a bit to play out yet.
The way the Dogs are going at the moment, they'll be lucky to even make the finals.
Yes true.to be fair this applies to most sides. The 2010 flag side is a great example of this.
Even the 3-peat Brisbane sides were pretty average throughout the season but became awesome in Sept.

Yes true.
1990 a primbe example too.
And 1958 we were just the best side last three quarters of that last game![]()
I'm surprised. I admit I thought he'd KILL it at the Bulldogs.
Maybe he really just is done with footy. I don't thin kit's that the game has passed him by, Hawkins still does ok and he's basically the same type of player.
On what basis did you think Cloke would kill it at the dogs?
Has been on a steep decline for 3 seasons.
His work rate has become non existent and his contested marking has disappeared.
Fair call.1990 we finished second on the ladder with 16 wins, just 4 points and nine percentage points behind Essendon. Hardly a prime example, the two best teams played off in the GF, and the two teams had played a cracker just a month before the finals at Waverley.
Not exactly sure its comparable to last season. We didnt exactly come from nowhere in 1990.
And to be fair, both Geelong and Hawthorn struggled after banging each other up in 1989. The year was left open for us to fill the voidFair call.
I was more meaning a not great side, just a very good side that does everything well in September

Lol of course a massive long term contract had nothing to do with his plummeting involvement on game days and of course performance clauses over his closing contract years would have nothing to do with his desire to reneg on his contract instead of living up to his contract would it???Just figured that their game style would suit him better combined with a fresh start and playing under a coach he enjoys more.
Or ...maybe he was cooked. Sure looks like it nowLol of course a massive long term contract had nothing to do with his plummeting involvement on game days and of course performance clauses over his closing contract years would have nothing to do with his desire to reneg on his contract instead of living up to his contract would it???
FMD!!!!!
Once again the club has been vindicated in moving a player on.I'm surprised. I admit I thought he'd KILL it at the Bulldogs.
