Some people need to go to work to get paid...
You're missing the point mate. He was still well enough to go to work to get paid. Some people aren't.

if i had any advice for people, dont rely on your employer to be understanding with a mental illness. Play your cards close to your chest. If you want to tell your employer about it so that he understands your situation and makes allowances when you're at work, then make sure that you get a medical certificate that says that your health is likely to recover.

No offence mate but you did have a choice and that was to go to work when you were mentally unwell. You were obviously still well enough to work or you wouldn't have rocked up. Every persons situation is different. Some people are just not well enough to cope with the daily grind.
Didnt know i earnt 300 grand a year mate

I think you are missing how wrong you are. You're at Robbo level but seemingly blissfully unaware.
I think you are missing my point mate. Reread my posts and pablo's posts on the last couple of pages of this thread. I understand that pablo suffered depression and had to go to work to get paid but pablo is basically saying that people suffering from depression should harden up which I feel is just wrong IMO.

No i think SOME afl players are starting tonuse it as an excuse

Hope Trav is taking it easy tonight. Half a dozen warm up beers before dinner somewhere nice with his lovely lady. Two bottles of red at dinner followed by a choc top at the movies. Finish the night in the best possible way.

How do you know if some players are using it as an excuse? It could be 100% legit. How would you feel if someone told you to toughen up and that you were using your depression as an excuse just to take a sickie or not partake in daily tasks etc. Its a fine line to tread as these players may be legitimately ill so telling them to toughen up is just wrong.

And comparing me to Robbo for defending people with depression shows how blissfully unaware you are. Pablo stating that people with depression should toughen up is something Robbo would say, so really you should be comparing pablo to Robbo.

Not really what i said but carry on

Not really what you said?...See below. Might be a refresher for you lol.

Depression is not a a matter to take lightly but afl players need to toughen up.....becoming a get out a jail card now......before ppl bite my head off i have had depression.....and i couldn't take time off work

Along those lines... but Pablo needs a magnifying glass when he rubs 1 out

I sense a lot of sexual tension between you and disco. You should probably do something about that.

:P

I reckon he has been carrying this burden for awhile. I alwYs think back to when that gossip mag invaded his privacy and published those nude photos along with Swanny. He never seemed the same to me after that, must have taken a toll on personal life - regardless how he may have tried to act in social media like it was all 'happy families'.

Wonder how those low life gossip mag leaches feel about likely contributing to this. Maybe they can dig around in his bins and find some new material.
I think he invited the unnecessary exposure upon himself. Both he and Swan were rather foolish to think they could scatter nude photos about without suffering repercussions. Don't know if this contributed to his issues, but he only has himself to blame if it did.

How does someone toughen up whilst suffering mental health?....if you had to work whilst suffering depression, then ur employer is a knob. Some people cannot work again or do the job they had previously due to their condition and medication they are on. So to say players or anyone uses mental health as a excuse is the dumbest thing l have read on here.
