Just got the B&W magazine today and it was a good read. MM talks about most of the young kids coming through and says that Travis didn't go to Arizona because he has had a jaw operation and will probably miss a fair bit of Pre-season. He also says that he will hold down CHF or CHB.

He continues to impress when he is played in the defensive key position and it is great news. He will be a great centre half-forward, but the fact that he can play well at the other end shows he has developed into a versatile player. The Bradshaw's, Lucas' and Lynch's have all shown versatility, but have been forwards for the majority, as has Lance Whitnall.

Cloke played well for Willy several times in the position, and showed signs against the Weagles.

Wasn't that last year he didn't go?

I reckon he went.

Quote Bucks: "There were some guys like Rhyce Shaw and Travis Cloke that were part of the group last year, but for differing reasons – Travis with his exams and Rhyce with his knee – weren’t able to get to the top of Mt Humphrey last year, so it was great to see those guys up there"

Yep he's there in the middle. Think MM must be talking about last year.

I'd like to see Trav play at CHB next year. Rocca with a big pre-season back to CHF, Rusling and Bucks FF.

I think he will play down back, as Reid and Dawes are more foward types. He could hold down a CHB position, with Nathan Brown at FB then Anthony, Toovey or alike could take the 3rd tall. Can't wait to see the spine in 3-4 years.

A forward line consisting of Dawes, Reid and Rusling could be dangerous in the future. Dawes is your marauding, pack-busting CHF type, Rusling is the mark and kick FF, and Reid is the utility who can surprise you at ground level, take marks up the field or contested marks inside the forward 50.

At the other end, Nathan Brown at FB, Travis Cloke at CHB, and John Anthony playing as a third tall in the quarterback role.

Sure, it's all speculative for now, but the important thing is that we at least have someone that we're HOPING fills these positions.

Ah yes must be last year if he is there:D Yes i would like to see trav play CHB aswell next year. He gives us some hight down there. I supose when he is playing CHF he leads up the ground and gives us someone to kick to up the ground and also adds more hight there. This should be the year to tells us what his position suits him.

I am salivating - and I think they will all make it - incl Anthony. Dont forget Cox on the bench

It's great isn't it?

You don't have to win the flag every other year to keep your supporter's happy so long as you give them hope. Something to look forward to. And that...they have! For the first time in a long time I might add.

Apart from last year, we hadn't really picked up any guns since Fraser in 99.

It pains me to say this but Carlton Supporter's have alot to look forward to over the coming years. You can understand their excitement and enthusiasm, even if Gibbs and Murphy have only 10 games between them atm. Their fans can now spend the next 10-15 yrs watching some of these kids develop. All are of a high calibre and the club has bottomed out and now on the upswing.

A similar type of excitement is building at the Lexus Centre. We all agree that we now have 3-4 players that we can really build a side around with potential success over the next 10 yrs.

As the late 'Big Kev' once said...."I'm Excited!"

I can't really understand all the talk of Cloke playing down back next year. Taz has just left and T cloke is one of the most promising forwards in the comp and everyone wants him to go down back. His first haf this year was a little dissapointing but when he came back into the side I thought he came on in leaps and bounds including what I thought was a bog performance against the hawks taking several contested marks at chf. For mine he is far to talented to develop as a defender.
