personally, if david Cloke came knocking at our door hawking his sons services to the highest bidder, I would spit at his feet. Our clubs greater than the individual and we won't be played for a tune once again by the likes of that lot...he can go forth, multiply and take up digs on the GC is the magic millions is what it's all about...like father like son huh

Well the thing is we already have quite a few players who must be on big money. Riewoldt is on $500,000 now- Lids, Cotch and Martin all close behind- which means Cloke would probably expect at least that much.

I'd love to get him but not sure that he fits

come on guys this guy is one of if not the best contested mark in the comp and him sitting at chf would give reiwoldt the perfect chance to excel even more if thats possible. ye sure he is a terrible kick but from 50ish he is a fairly decent kick and thats where we would have him. he would be our get out kick to half foward. this would allow jack to be able to play 1 out in the square a hell of a lot. if u give him a 3 year deal 700k first year 500k second and 400k 3rd so its front ended. giving us more room to move later on wen our other young guns are demanding more coin. we should be into him and look to take him in the psd or national draft if neccasary.

Id suggest that is the sticking point, the premiers wouldn't be offering anymore than 400-450...Personally I don't reckon he's worth 600+

Pies are being too cute with their offer of only 2 years but 'The Clokes' (read dad David) are being very shifty with the way they have done all of this.

Now that trade week is dusted & The Pies have no chance to manoeuvre to replace him with an equivalent player, the Clokes ramp up the leverage.
I just can't see them letting him go and then having Jack Anthony as their prime power forward option in 2012 for their premiership defence. (Unless Tarrant is going to make a comeback in the forward line!)

The one thing that this argy bargy is doing though I reckon is further souring the internals at The Pies between the management and Cloke.

I'm sure the club would not be enjoying being bent over a barrell.

I agree with this. We have 0% chance of getting Cloke. The Clokes are obviously money hungry people, you would think they would be smart enough to ask for a 1 year contract for Travis, then when GWS come in next year $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ roll up roll up.

We should be throwing everything at him, love or hate him, the boy can play and would dominate CHF for us. Any other opinion is just silly.

He treats his footy as a business and it is just that. This nonsense of playing for the love of the game really irks me. These guys must set themselves up after their short careers come to an end.

You speak of loyalty to a club. Well it works both ways. Apparently only 5 of our whole list were not available for trade. Where is the clubs loyalty to those guys????
