Fev or Barry Hall. Maybe even try and entice Plugger out of retirement.I wouldn't mind the tigers picking up Fevola (highly unlikely), after all; newman and him are neighbours.

good post..He has never done anything ever to justify that coin, but is he worth it for a club like Richmond in a time like now?
As a player? No.
As a finance generating resource? Absolutely.
He would return the million plus interest by taking the Tiges the next step and activating (fickle) elements of the Tiger Army.
You would get the million back, you just couldn't spend it on player payments.

As ridiculous as the notion of Fevola is or Even Plugger lol it puts things clearly into perspective I think.Fev or Barry Hall. Maybe even try and entice Plugger out of retirement.
Fev has as much chance of being at Tigerland next year as Richo has coming out of retirement. As ridiculous as the notion of Fevola is or Even Plugger lol it puts things clearly into perspective I think.
You could spend $1m on Cloke for say 50-60 goals and the chance to divide your club.
You could spend $80,000 on Fev for about the same.
I understand this. I think you missed the point old son.Fev has as much chance of being at Tigerland next year as Richo has coming out of retirement.
Fwiw , Cloke has kicked 35 of Collingwoods 225 goals this season , whilst jack has kicked 47 of our 216 .
Think solely on goal kicking Jack could put a very good case for wanting a similar contract ?
Before everyone jumps up and down , I did say solely on goal kicking and I also don't think our players, who have gone through the development years , should have to be underpaid to fit in a mercenary , in the hope they assist them to play finals .
This could all have another twist if he is dropped , his form ain't great in a side which poccesses' arguably the best midfield .
Stick to developing our own stars and trading for depth .
You can get odds on anything.
Sportingbet had odds for what Mick Malloy would name his twins
They play different roles. Jack is a better goal kicker while Trav is better further up the ground and a great mark. In fact they compliment each other pretty much perfectly. The Pies apparently offered 3.7 mill with the last 500k performance based.
Now I'm just reading between the lines of what Craig Cameron said yesterday but I took it as we can afford to match the reported figures of the Melbourne and Freo offers but it sounded like we'd rather sign him up for less money. Nick Riewoldt is 30 this year and on just short of 1 million. Personally I'd rather give him an extra year or 2 for less money. Try get him for say 6/7 years on 700/750k and pay him 1million in the first year or so as to get majority of it out the way. That way Trav gets his big contract. We get a gun CHF and when others come asking for a similar pay rise its only 700-750 per year and we aren't having to pay multiple players 900k-1mill per year. Added bonus we wouldn't have to negotiate another contract with his dad.
Lets say we offered him 750k per year for 6 which totals 4.5million. Pay him 1 mill first 2 years. Which leaves 2.5 for remaining 4 years so doesn't bust our cap open. Maybe pay him 750k for the next 2. Then 600k then you only owe him 400k by the last year.
His old man says NO!
Can't believe the hysteria that his old man has created, he wanted to extract as much coin as possible out of Collingwood and in doing so he has created a bidding war for a bargain basement player who will come with all the baggage he has now plus more. Imagine the pressure on him and the club that has him next year to get good return for their investment. It will be tremendous from a bloke who has many limitations. If he can't do it at Collingwood with Pendles, Swan, Thomas, Beams etc supplying him then why will he be any better with us?
One side question to this. Does anyone actually believe Travis will really leave the Pies?
They raised a decent point on AW last night. If he does switch, the pressure on him at the new club will be immense. Imagine if he comes to Tigerland for $900k per year, do you seriously think we will be happy with one goal per year? If that happened for 6 months we would be tearing the joint down.
Thinking about it, I actually agree with them, he may not be the type who can cope with or really wants this kind of pressure.

We also paid peanuts for Cousins. But who was taken with the pick directly after we used ours on Ben? Tom Rockliff, that's who.As ridiculous as the notion of Fevola is or Even Plugger lol it puts things clearly into perspective I think.

I saw you had written that and that's why I said at the same time Trav's a better mark. I think Jack is probably worth up around that 700k mark if he can find his 2010 form again and I think Travis would help that. He himself would have better help in our forward line than theirs. Dawes' man is playing on Cloke this year. I also feel people are getting carried away with the poor form comments. Statistically he is only down about 2 possessions 1.5 marks and half a goal on last year while he is still leading the comp for contested marks with 2 guys on him all day and his goal tally is still his 2nd best on average.I did say solely on goal kicking , Jack would have a good case to ask for a similar contract .
The Cloke sons have a bit of a record of having break out seasons and never reaching anything like it again and it's not as thought he is tearing it up in a side which has a poor midfield .

While the Cousins pickup was not a disaster by any means, I would hope the club has learned that getting in players for one or two years just isn't worth it in the long run.
As I type, Cousins is spiralling into an abyss and Rockliff is...well, quite frankly a gun and will be for the next 7 or 8 years.
Thanks. I stand corrected on that, but I don't shy away from the gist of what I said. I am deadset against stop gap measures. I am not overly keen on Cloke, but at least he isn't a stop-gap measure. Fevola? Holy crap.Rockliff went the pick before Cousins Tugg.
Yer no Fevola. Cuz was at least in shape to play AFL footy. Fev wouldn't last in VFL the size of him.Thanks. I stand corrected on that, but I don't shy away from the gist of what I said. Not much closet space is there?Dayne Beams, Sharrod Wellingham and Ben Reid have been confirmed by Collingwood football club as the newest players to recommit to the club, following Steele Sidebottom, Heath Shaw, Scott Pendlebury, Luke ball, Lachie Keefe and Jarryd Blair earlier in the year.
running out of room at collingwood one would suspect.
So Tigs I guess my point is , I agree if we are to play Cloke somewhere near 1ml Jack should recieve around 700k.I saw you had written that and that's why I said at the same time Trav's a better mark.
