Wouldn't mind Cloke. I reckon he's overrated but let's face it, he's still a gun in anyone's book. Pinning all our hopes on Elton, Griffiths, Astbury types is risky because we are basing this on potential because they are yet to prove anything at AFL level. Reckon Caddy would be a good get as we need another hard bodied inside midfielder type and you would assume he'd be an upgrade on Tuck.

Again, watching us v Freo, man we need a CHF. Bad. Jack getting double teamed big time.

We REALLY need a CHF. That was bleedingly obvious today. Griffiths can't stay on the field, so we can't rely on him. IF we can get Cloke then it would make a massive difference to our structure.

the real issue in our forward line IMO is we continue to have a number of players who are to easily outmarked and out muscled by their direct opponent, although we could do with another key forward I wouldn't be chasing another key forward at the expense of gaining more mids. Our mid depth is terrible.

So our forward line problem is getting out muscled and out marked but dont chase the best contested marking player in the game?? Our mid depth will be improved again next season with our first 3 draft picks. Cloke will give us a big marking key forward we need and both he and Jack will be more potent as they wont get double teamed when playing together.

Lets be honest a 40+ goal kicking forward this year and we probably would have won another 4-5 games (any of Essendon, GC, Carlton second game, North, Cats, Freo at MCG and WC).

That being said losing foley and grimes hurt us badly as our backline struggled to contain teams with fewer inside 50's, and foleys tackling and pressure and grimes presence down back are very important for our backline.

Just to defend our defence, Griffiths knocks himself out in a total dickhead act, and we hold freo to under 100 points at Subi. Was a fair effort given the pressure they were under.

Yes he will bring us another target however IMO our issue against quality opposition has been the ease in which a number of our players have been brushed aside and the opposition have easily rebounded off half back and how easily the opposition has at times gained clearances and entered their forward 50. Neither of those are going to be improved by gaining Travis Cloke. I am also very mindfull that if we get CLoke and don't play finals next year there will be a huge up roar and we'll be in the same shit have been in the past.
Small fish are sweet, we don't need to sign big name players on big expensive deal to improve.

If we don't play finals next year there will be a huge up roar anyway, but we were probably 1 goal in the games against Carlton, GC and North from being a finals team this year. Cloke for mine makes a huge difference to our forward line. That other stuff will come with another preseason into Cotchin(only had 1), Martin(pull his finger out a bit and maybe put him across HB like deledio for his defensive side), Conca, Ellis, Batchelor, Dea(injuries in his first 2 years), Helbig plus another first round pick midfielder and 2 other basically top 30 picks and i'm guessing whoever else they target like Thomas and Chaplin from port ect...

Today showed just how much we need a dominant presence in the forward half.

I reckon in the backroom Clokes value has just gone up a notch.

Riewoldt, as good as he can be... Meh, Im over him.
Today showed just how much we've missed Vickery in 2011 form. If he was able to replicate that form this year I have no doubt that our fortunes would have been much different to what they currently are. For example if Vickery plays today, he stops Johnson from sagging off and double teaming Jack. It was pretty clear that Johnson had no respect for McGuane as he just knew that we weren't going to use him.

Next year we get Vickery back and say Astbury Post Griffiths or Elton that can play up forward as well and we'll have a much better set up with regards to our talls. I also think with extra midfield depth being added through the drafts we might get to see the likes of Deledio Martin & Cotchin spending a little more time up forward as well. That will certainly make a difference to how we structure up.

That being said if Cloke announced that he was coming to Richmond I wouldn't be turning him away either.

Lets just hope vickery gets back to last years form in 2013 , and i wouldn't be counting on Grffiths he is very injury proned. We should def go after Cloke 100%.

Knocking himself out is hardly a reason to call Griffiths injury prone. I mean christ we all wrote him off last week after an apparent knee injury and yet he was out there today without any strapping at all.

Get him, throw the kitchen sink at him and some. Forget his current form more than likely outcasted at Collingwood atm and how could he not possibly make us a far better team?

It hasnt looked great for Griff and i hope he doesn't go the way of Gumby but plenty of players come through injury plagued first few years, Josh Kennedy (WC), Hodge, Ben Ried and i'm sure there are more to name but cannot think off the top of my head.

How? Exactly as he's playing tonight. Exactly as he's played all year. Similar to how he played last year.
Yes, I'll take him. $450k a year for four. And a jeep. Sign here Trav....

He's better than anyone we currently have, that's the facts. He had good games at the start of the year and it all went down hill once his contract saga started. We have no one waiting at the club that can play chf, the sooner people realise that the better.
