The closest thing I can think of to a number one forward movin. The best I can think of is Fev who when he and brown actually played together were pretty good. But Fev's body was shot and he was a massive tool of the field so it failed. But football wise that forward line was pretty potent.

I would also suggest WC forward like last year was still pretty awesome with Kennedy, Darling, Lynch and fox or nicnat resting up there each providing options for the midfield. We have Jack as our only option and possibly Vickery.

This discussion isn't over whether Twavis would make our forward line function better , I've acknowledged that is most likely the case .
You tried to spin that him moving to Richmond would see his personal form improve and alluding to the amount of inside 50's , media attention and Collingwoods midfield being significant factors . I have simply argued that none of those issues would be resolved if he was to move to us .
The reason being that he takes a large percentage of his marks outside 50 and that he wouldn't get the percentage of forward entries going through him as he does at Collingwood .
Media attention upon him is likely to rise , especially if he goes to another Melbourne based club as the media have indentified a flaw and being a highly paid recruit gains additional additional attention .
Lastly I fail to see how as a collective group our midfield is better than Collingwoods , IMO our top end is probably close to equal , but their midfield depth shits all over ours.

Cotchin > Beams
Lids < Pendlebury
foley > ball
Tuck < Swan
Sidebottom = Martin
Conca < Wellingham
Nahas < Blair
 
Did anyone else listen to the Ratten press conference, especially when Swann and sticks said that if Cloke was to go there they would have to do a lot of "shuffling" and "make some cuts"? I think he's staying at the Pies, in recent days Dogs and Dees have dropped out, he presumably won't go interstate, we are entertaining the possibility and Carlton will have to do a fair amount of maneuvering to get him over. RFC aren't going to sell the farm for him which is great, so I'd say the Pies will match any offer made and retain him....

Think it was mentioned very early on that they might be keen but also more the media putting two and two together and getting 5. I.e. the Dogs need a forward and Cloke was/is avaliable.

I can understand that, this season, he has been held by some better defenders. But if you look at his career, man he is a game changer. A GENUINE CHF. A very rare commodity is this era and he is up for grabs.
Has to be considered.

No he doesn't. He hasn't played good against strong sides later in the year, and he costs way too much money. Unless he wants to come for at least half the price he's asking he is not worth to be considered.
Not to mention our great recruitment blokes more than likely have someone else in mind already.

Ok if that's your stance, fair enough. In the cut throat world of AFL these blokes aren't cheap.
If he costs too much, why are teams trying to lure him with MORE money!! Because they want to win... Simple.
Oh well, guess we will stick to our "could be a handy depth player" types..

We are all tickled pink about Chaplin, why? because he is half decent and cheap, nothing special, more than handy, but cheap. Yet a genuine KPP with the runs on the board is available who will add 10x what Chaplin will and everyone sooks cause he will cost to much. Got me beat.

Freo trying to make a push before Pav is gone

Melbourne with a list where 75% of the players get paid with vouchers for cheeseburgers because thats their worth.

If Cloke costs us Nahas and Batch, is it worth it?
