I called it the week before the game that we would fight fire with fire re: the Hawks "unsociable footy". Then Bucks said as much in a conference during the week. Proud that we outdid them at their own game, and got out of it suspension-free.

Think you're overstating things, Varcoe's "bump" was accidental and he clearly tried to slow up at the point of impact.

I don't think we get a lot of players rubbed out anyway apart from the odd one here and there, like Sidey last year. A fine for Varcoe seems to me like a non-decision. I don't think he should have received any penalty at all. The MRP obviously didn't think it was too serious but probably didn't think they could let him off completely. Would have loved to have seen them come out and say "We have looked at the Travis Varcoe incident and concluded that he has no case to answer and blokes who duck their head like that only have themselves to blame"

I'm probably in the minority here judging by the talk on the radio about 'confusion' etc, but I thought there was a clear difference in the Schulz tackle and Gibbs' one. Happy to see Schulz cleared.
