Who was it that said on krock that the Geelong coaches are absolutely rapt in what varcoe is doing off the ball.
One of the coaches or players.

So Davids theory holds up.

Watch Selwoods last qtr boundary goal v Sydney and watch the great sheperding work of Varcoe.Dunno if it'll show up on TV [that's television, not Varcoe] but it was in front of me so I had a great view.

T Sel and Menz both mentioned it....

But what would they know?

Go Catters

What are they going to say?.......he's crap, we don't want him in the team!...I doubt it.o_O

At the moment he's going, just going, just involved enough to hold a spot, and I'm being positive about him.

My concern is when it's tough, hard and tight he just goes missing or turns it over to often. When we're on top, he gets involved.
Anyhow no doubt he'll play, so we'll see if he's better.

JubJub has got excellent eyesight, and a phenomenal imagination.:D

If a few things are going to get us over the line this season with an unfit Hawkins, no Menzel or Simpson and THunt in poor form - it will be other players performing well that help cover their loss.

This is where Varcoe comes into the equation.

He has been ok the last few weeks. If he and Chappy can add a bit more to the side it can help overcome Hawkins' less output IMO.

I really hope this week Varcoe and Chappy get 35 possies and 3 goals between - and say 8 tackles.

Noted paucity of Varcoe criticism.
20 pressure acts,
6 last Q possessions when the heat was on,
brilliant run and carry from defence,
no signs of lack of leg speed, overweight, slow
2 typical Varcoe goals,
he's building,
SHOULD BE PERFECTION IN 4 WEEKS.

Yes he's working into it nicely. Tried to be too cute with his disposal at times but it will come. He is certainly building.

Even meto hasn't had a bad word to say this week.

Edit: meant to quote VEEDUBS post into this but tapatalk wants to quote other random posts from God knows where for some reason.

15 at 52.5% isn't setting the world on fire or is it for you people!.....the goal was a pearl er but he needed it,......he was 5 possessions to half time, like I said doesn't like the hot early ball.

Chappy first full and proper game back, 26 possessions kicked the late goal and smothered the ball before a stamped of Lions, then finger tipped a certain goal, he's the friggen hero!!

5 possessions in a first half "going through the middle" will get us beat in the finals!!!
Why do you think they were getting first use,....Rockcliff and Rich were kicking arse.
Dream on VD.

lol
meto, you gonna have dog balls dangling in your face after this finals series with the constant tripe you fling around about Varcoe.

His best game since return and you don't even the courage to admit he played a good game and instead, you highlight Chapman's game who was one of the best in an attempt to highlight the differential in numbers :p

Still very low on confidence. At one point he had a great chance to go BANG from 40 on the run, but chose to pass it off. The 2010-11 Varcoe would have nailed it.

Pressure is not to his liking....you just watch....look at the numbers!

Agree SJ , just needs to look at that clip and realise to back himself in and go bang !!
He does that , gets more confidence from hitting the scoreboard and hey presto , Trav 2011 is back ;)

He's improving each week. Once again his pressure acts were right up there - only just behind Kelly. He's been getting his hands on the pill more. He needs to improve in the contested ball area and his disposal was down on Saturday. We don't have that many genuinely quick players who, when on song, can be X factors.

Of more concern to me is that we once again got cut-up by a small quick forward.

Varcoe seems to be playing a little better each week. The MC are not going drop him.

Chapman back gives us another effective small forward who kicks goals.

If Chapman and Varcoe can combine to kick 4 goals, have 20 touches, 10 tackles and a heap of pressure acts - then that would be a good return. Yes Chappy may be the more dominate player of the two - but I would be happy with this result.

They need to kick 4 goals as Hawk will not kick more than 2 goals from what I have seen. We must hit the scoreboard and Pods needs to kick 2-3 as well.

We just need Varcoe to take on the game a little more each week and stop handing the ball off as much as he does currently. Surely Scott will give him this message at some point ?

I have concerns about Trav as well, hope he proves me wrong.

A lot have been getting into T Hunt, but Trav also needs to do more.

We all know what he is capable of so we can only hope he really clicks now its Finals time.
