Blake, Blicavs and Gamble are some of your favourites? Can I ask why? I get why you defend them as players but I don't get why you would list them as favourites ahead of the likes of Johnson, Enright, Hocking, Bartel, Scarlett, Corey, Chapman etc?
I said a few.
Blake- really rated his tap work that set up our premiership mids, and his endeavour, and his genetics.
Gamble- thought his potential was untapped. I was wrong.
Blicavs- liked him from day 1, and can not agree with the negativity about his selection. He is unique and vital in our team. All are unique I know- he is "more unique"

And, the rest don't need my endorsement, they already have it of course. Buddha Hocking and Peter Riccardi are also right up there in my top 5!
I love them all really. Was a big fan of David Mensch.
Very few would I say anything disparaging about.

Not liking the fact that Varco is so soft. Really un Geelong like and would love to see him burrow in and win his share of hard ball. Thought he went a little better in this regard in the second half but gee he's soft.

I was talking to the old man about that last night and he said to me that maybe we just learn to live with it because that's what he does. We as geelong supporters demand toughness at the ball but maybe we just accept travvy and the way he goes about it. But my god if he was hard he would be a gun player!

He is what he is. And he has a heap of pain to forge the way he is , Im not sure if we insist that put his body on the line more that we will get much , as he will probably just get injured again

He's never been a Joel Selwood, but I don't remember this aspect of his current play being anywhere near as noticeable back in 2011.
Is it possible that he's protecting the shoulder either subconsciously, or even on medical advice?
Whatever, I personally have no problem with his performance if he continues to regularly contribute as well as he did this week; 2 or 3 very clever and constructive knock-ons (both defensive and attacking), a couple of absolutely scintillating passes at full pace, and a fairly even effort over the whole game. If he starts to play as well as he did on occasions back in 2011 that would be a bonus, but in the meantime I think this was better than for most of the year, and at least promising.

That is spot on.

I think he's had one or more shoulder reconstructions. They pop out really easily. Becoming an 'inside' player and remaining injury-free may not be physically possible for him.

Agree.
Do any of his critics recall his attack on the ball and contest early 2013?
Multiple shoulder and foot operations- I reckon we're lucky he still is a player.

What were his 19 possessions like for eff%?
Why pick on 2 errors, when really, his game was pleasing to watch for all who were there to see it.
There was another occasion he was forced into a one handed mark v NDS, and beat him, set up something special.
He is a very gifted player who displayed that last pm, and there is nobody better to displace him.
Simple they were not errors, it's a weakness in his game,he doesn't commit the body and gave up two goals.

rubbish, one of those he was pushed and lost balance, or have you got others?

Rubbish nothing simply went one hand outside the line of his body as is his usual way and missed it.tried to post the screen shot from the replay of the replay but it's beyond my expertises.

I'll help you out. It was a blatant push in the back. Umpire was horribly out of position and but for that it would have been a free every day of the week. Stood side by side of an opposition player just seemed to offer no fight, opponent easily marked the ball, on another occasion early in the game, the commentators made the comment that he'd shirked contact but a the north player didn't, he fumbled and over ran balls he should've grabbed but for fear of contact
Can you expect to win finals with such a player, the outside feed for him was good for him Friday, that's all nothing's changed with his game and that's the issue.

Those goals were caused by the little steps to avoid anticipated heavy contact. Be serious Vdubs, and ask yourself why is it always him?

Possibly. But you can't have one rule for just one - that means any player who has shoulder problems is exonerated from getting the hard ball.

This is my biggest fear. That he will cost us a final in the near future due to his lack of effort at the ball sometimes. I honestly think he has made an art of deliberately over running the ball, or shirking the issue at times in an effort to hide his weakness. Problem for Travvy is that the games now covered from all angles. Except from the goal line!

That you have an agenda with. I do. Often. I wonder why you are so affected by him.
Do you recall asking the same questions about winning a final, a GF, in 2011, with TV in the team?
It is on record. He seemed to have a good reply for you, yet you persist with this line of attack.
The MC is not me, but the evidence is there- they value his role in the team.
