If we want a mid/half forward, there are a couple of better options on the market:

Chappy - will come cheaper (salary and no trade required), better player (3 premierships, norm smith, all australian, best and fairest etc etc), leadership qualities
Savage - same sort of pace/goalkicking x-factor player as varcoe but without the injuries, would like be much cheaper in terms of trade and salary I would think

Would have him for the right price (both trade and salary wise) - would be a handy replacement for White and bring some pace into the side. Still youngish so fits in with our core age group and has a bit of x factor which we lack IMO.

Tambling wasn't totally bereft of talent, he was just lazy, soft, mentally weak and a poor reader of the game.

Varcoe is what Tambling would've been had he pushed himself, become a supreme gut runner, had more courage, a stronger mind and at least a vague idea of the game.

Is a big game player and gets the job done in finals, just like the match winning goal in the prelim vs the hawks. Oh wait, he missed that didn't he
Yeah just like he missed that one in the 2011 GF. Oh...wait...

I think his best is ahead of him and its with the cats

Not sure about that -don't think he'll ever reach the heights of 2011 again- but people virtually labelling him a hack is quite laughable.

Meanwhile at Richmond, they pick up Geelongs dead wood and allow the cats to pick up Adams....Is all of this serious? How about instead of getting Chapman and Varcoe we go and get a young kid with promise?

Number 1 problem is that we need to give someone of substance to get some one of substance.....problem is most people here think our players are "untouchable" and just want to organise trades with Nahas and the like.
