But noone has crucified him like your rather emotive post suggests. People have noted that his form seems a bit down from what we were seeing last season and have been wondering why that is so. His little cameos like in last weeks game are great. We have been trying to genuinely discuss what is going on. Then people like you come in and think we are trying to bagg him and chuck a hissy fit/tanty about it, but don't actually contribute anything to the conversation in any other way.

But it's not even about him getting 12 possessions or 20, and make no mistake his third quarter was brilliant. It's the constant avoiding of any contact whatsoever that's frustrating. His tackling used to be the strongest part of his game now he simply won't do it. That's what we're querying more than anything else.

Varcoe seems to be brilliant at reading the play before it unfolds, pretty much a natural trait that the aboriginal boys possess and he been involved in many important matches, who do you reckon got the ball to Chappy for 'that' most important goal in the 2009 GF?
Gotta remember he's finally starting to gain strength in those shoulders too and is one of the games most electric players infront of goal. He's getting better each week and hopefully he follows the same path as his lookalike in the current NBA playoff series because he's proven all doubters wrong

Last time I checked we were 8 and 0.....
that is 8 wins and 0 losses, much of them against the top teams in the league, both at home and away.
Now, are we really spending our time ragging on a bloke who kicked 3 goals in a quarter?

Could easily be 4 and 4 but for goal here and there.
There are players in our team who are weaker than others and therefore their place gets questioned from time to time.
Especially considering we are not just trying to make the 8, we are trying to win flags at the moment. It is legitimate to talk about players who fans feel might cost us badly when the finals heat is on.
As to what is wanted from Varcoe, pretty easy. A more consistent effort and harder at the ball and the man that what he is currently delivering.

You're talking treason criticising Varcoe on these boards. He's beyond reproach to some.
