I saw this on the AUFC forum.

Warren Tredrea drops in to Choco 's house on Thursday a couple of hours before training to talk about that night's session. As he walks in he sees Choco finishing off his lunch - eating the biggest tomato he had ever seen.

A hobby vegie grower from way back, Tredders excitedly asks Choco "where did ya get that tomato?"

"I grew it myself" Choco proudly answers.

" Stiffy and Truck down at the Crows have a hobby farm and they mix up a secret blend of sheep manure, horse manure and cow manure and they gave me a bag."

"I've just gotta try some of that on my vegies" says Tredders , "Can you get me some?."

"No worries" is the reply, "I'll stop in at Stiffy 's on the way to training and grab you a bag."

At Alberton Oval that evening Peter Rohde has just finished signing up Michael Wilson for 6 more years when he walks out of his office and sees Choco dragging a large, heavy bag into the Power rooms.

"What's that?" he asks

Choco replies "I've got a bag of sh*t from the Crows for Tredders ."

"Well done" says Rhodey "Good Trade!"

why? hes been our best forward this year...

hes still got a bit left in him

I can give u a few good reaons ... Ricciutio, Buckley, Crawford, West ... all played on one year too long as far as I am concerned (assuming Crawf and West retire this year and don't go on 2 years too long).

I am trying to do the right thing by Tredders here, let him at least go out on a semi high, if that is applicable after your wretched season.

Ok ok, I'll bite.
  • Ricciuto was 31 turning 32 when he all of a sudden ceased up with Parvo and then a bad back/neck/ankle.
  • Buckley was 34 turning 35 and his chronic hamstring had been an issue for years.
  • Crawford is 33 turning 34 and has a degenerative knee.
  • West is 33 turning 34 and has been an ironman until this year.
Tredders will only be 30 on Christmas Eve and playing in a more traditional CHF role returned 31 goals and 28 assists in 17 games this year.

He hasn't had a hint of a soft tissue injury in his career, his knee is finally good 2 years after the patella tendon realignment and the dislocated shoulder against Freo was a freak impact injury.

He has at least one, hopefully 2 productive years left assuming no more trauma injuries - which can strike at any age.

Nice facts and figures, probably will go another one or two, don't get me wrong I am actually a Tredders fan despite being a Crows man. I still remember the day he came of age and tore Carlton apart, that was amazing stuff.

Nevertheless ... hasn't this season been trauma enuf for the great man?! :)
