I agree, thats why it would only be an absolute `in case' for the interim.

Lade, Carr, James and Wilson would all make great Vice Captains. If I had to choose, I'd say it'd be out of Lade and Wilson, then if I had to choose between them I'd say Lade.
It might seem strange but I would pick Peter Burgoyne before any of those two, sure Burgers has had his problems over the years but it might be just what he needs to take that next step.

However if I had my choice it would be Josh Carr.

Theres no way i would have Lade as Vice Captain, just because they get old doesnt mean that they are leaders. If Lade hadnt had a good finals campaign he would have been trade bait. Lade needs to get his own game right before he is given a leader ship role.
I agree with the above comments, Peter Burgoyne would be a better choice then Lade. I think it would be good for him.

No idea what P. Burgoyne is like off-field -- no doubt he's settled some in the last couple of years -- but there were on-field signs in 2003, I thought, that he's becoming a bit of a leader. Given that, and his very high B&F rating, he'd be a likely suspect, at the very least.

Shall we email the club?

Carry turned his poor early season form around I thought. He's a tough little bugger and probably our most hated player behind the Cornes'.
The funny thing is that's probably what he'd do too!

Carr is the likely DVC (or equal VC) now that Steamer boy has gone.

I think if we had two VC's the other should be Michael Wilson. The guy beams with courage and deterimanation (2 knee reco's could of ended a weaker players playing days) and apparantly he is very popualr around the club and among the player group itself

Don't know about Burgoyne...he is a fantastic player but he doesn't scream leadership to me.

I agree with the points about Wilson, he is a senior player now and is Port Adelaide through and through.

I'd like to see Josh Carr have a go as well, is he much of an on-field leader? I think he would be a good choice as he is always so hard at the ball etc, but the question of "is he a leader of men?" still remains.

Maybe if Wilbur and Carr were potentially to be given deputy vice captain positions, they could captain the side against teams that are struggling next season to give them a bit of experience (providing Port aren't struggling themselves!)

Wilbur is the better choice out of Carr/Lade/Peter.... something about wilbur... and it will be nice to have Port Adelaide guys that wear their club with pride, Warren And Wilbur both are that. They will stick by their club and they are PROUD of their club..... yeah.... :)
