You're right.

I can't prove it. I'm only assuming you offered the most.

But 'very generous' is a subjective term.

If someone offered me $600,000 for 2 years work I'd say that was 'very disingenuous'

But if someone offered Bill Gates $600,000 he probably wouldn't think it was quite so generous.

He nominated Collingwood because he has seen the way constantly losing finals can mess with a man's mind, it does things to him, things he can't talk about, it questions a man and sends his thoughts into the darkest of recesses, deep into places he does not want to go if he can avoid it.
Its like riding into the heart of the Congo on Conrad's Roi des Belges, there is nothing in that darkness except a stranger named Hardwick.

I think I know who inamedthegiants is. It can't be anyone this passionate about GWS who's a noob to the game, or even an ex-Swan convert, it has to be some campaigner who's been on the GWS payroll, perhaps still is.

It has to be some campaigner that makes up bogus rumours, think Collingwood could have had Jeremy Cameron and Jaeger O'Meara for Ben Reid type of rumours. inamedthegiants is ....

There's no need to offer more money given we trump Richmond on picks and points. Again. If Richmond offer 2 late first round picks this year and next, they can't beat the value of our first and second round this year. If GWS wanted to use Richmond's first round this year they will have to spend their own first round too to cover the academy points and then have no 1st round left for the draft. We offer the prospect of second round points and GWS using their first round but with the ability to retain our first round in the draft.

Collingwood is his choice. Yes.

Because you have offered him the most money.

That is a variable that can potentially be changed.

Do you agree that is a possibility?
No I don't because I do not agree that is the only reason he choose the club. The only way he goes anywhere else is if the two clubs, Pies and / or GWS, are unreasonable in their discussions.

Let me state this obvious fact for you: players who nominate their preferred destination almost always arrive at their preferred destination, especially now in the era of free agency.

It matters not what variables exist, we can debate them at length, they make no difference to the fact that he has nominated Collingwood. All we need to do is come up with a trade suitable for GWS. As we are his nominated club, GWS have no choice but to deal with us.

Unless GWS and a third club convince Treloar to change his nomination, which I can tell you now is 99.99% unlikely, he will be coming to Collingwood.

Why is it 99.99% unlikely? Because no player manager invests a year in negotiations behind the scenes, nominates a club, then two weeks later changes his mind - that player manager will be risking his own reputation, and will burn bridges with clubs - not in the interests of a player manager, it's a major faux pas.

If Richmond are stupid enough to believe GWS that they still have a chance, and thus expend significant energy trying to lure Treloar, only to find themselves out cold and missing out on other trade opportunities as a result (and there are plenty this year), then so be it. That's their loss, and good on you guys for using a stupid club to force us to pay overs.

Honestly, none.

I can't see a player aside from your untouchables who would improve our list.

But the majority of Pies fans kept mentioning Witts' name.

That's why I asked for 2 first rounders and this years second.
No way it is 2 first rounders and a second rounder. You are just stirring (not using the t word) now.

This all sounds a lot like last season when Beams nominated Brisbane and a bunch of Pies and Gold Coast fans on BF were adament that GC was still a legitimate destination and could threaten Bris getting Beams while giving us a sweeter deal. End of the day, it didnt matter, the deal got done to the nominated club. Both clubs had supporters that thoughts the deal was bad for their club, but it got done for what it was worth.

It doesnt matter what we all think here, or what Richmond fans think they should offer to trump us, they are irrelevant unless both of these thing occur: They offer AT a much better deal (which they've had all year to do it seems), AND negotiations fall apart between Coll and GWS during trade week and Richmond miraculously offer something way better than 2x 1st rounders. Highly unlikely any of this happens IMO.
