SA boy... hasn't committed to the club, finished top 5 in the BnF three times in a row from 2018-2020.

Any buyers?

I'd rather him on a wing then Angus Brayshaw.

Gone. Was initially Adelaide who made a play last year, now Port have come in hard since the Rockliff retirement, and Hartlett will be finishing up too apparently, so he has both options on the table.

He's a good player. Would obviously walk into Adelaide's team and Port are in the window so adds good depth there.

Everything indicates to him being an RFA unless there's a clause (can that even exist in a contract?) that says otherwise. Same years service as Josh Kelly, same years on the senior list etc.
Restricted vs unrestricted is dependent on whether he is being paid in the top X number at the club.

The AFL releases a list every year because it’s only based on the last year of the contract and obviously we’re not privy to it.

More details here:

Tadaaaaaa, a good fit elsewhere, tons of high end talents coming in not the least in Horne-francis.

Has been a good squire, not truly a knight but a useful squire.

He’s pretty handy for a wing player. I’d pass but a team like Melbourne could use him.

Huh?
Rockliff finishing (and possibly Hartlett moving) would be factors how? Dumont isn’t an inside clearance mid like Rockliff nor a hard long kicking hbf like Hartlett.

Dumont is a running mid.

Port has Amon, rozee , butters , duursma, Bergman, Houston, spp, Farrell, Bonner and motlop.

Way more than we can fit into our 22 (and that’s not counting developing guys like mead or that jase Burgoyne is coming in this draft)

Can’t see port “coming hard” for a player that we are stocked with younger higher upside players in, nor dumont wanting to come to a place where he’s going to rely on injuries to get his shot.

He's been criminally underappreciated by many North fans in regards to his role.

Has done really well as a defensive wing who works pretty well as a link guy.

Been a bit down this year coming off the calf injury to start the year but certainly adds value as a team first guy.

Will go to Adelaide on $400-$450k which will be enough for Band 3 given his age.

Rawlings will want to leverage the spoon in other ways and this is one of them. Would be a compo pick in the 30's if we finished mid table, likely to be pick 21 with the spoon though.

Will give us #1,#20,#21.

If it’s 400-450k it would have to be a long term contract like 4-5 years just to sneak into band 3.

That salary will get band 4 not 3 i reckon.

Of course years has something to do with it.

A 3 year 500k contract (1.5m) and a 4 year 500k contract (2m) are different and get judged differently.

You are completely wrong.

Its average wage only, total contract value is only relevant to the average wage ranking

In your example the two contacts would be ranked the same and it would come down to the age weighting.
