Not sure why we would downgrade a ruckman, Minson would be a long way ahead of West as a player.

Let's not help any other teams emtpy out their trash this year. I don't want us to trade anyone that's up for offer at the moment.
Could be purely a $ decision.
If Minson is rated as our 3rd ruckman behind Hudson & Roughead which is a possibility and will only be played as a back-up wouldn't it be better to have a cheaper option as our 3rd stringer and spend the saved money elsewhere.

Would rather take a punt on a player as a mature age rookie and use Hudson, Roughy and Cordy. You might find the next Huddo running around in the VFL. There's no point having someone who would only play a game if there are several ruck injuries taking a spot on the main list.

He and Blake have the same manager, the club has made clear that one will go and one will stay, it's just a question of which.
He's frusrated by lack of opportunity, so if he goes it will be to a club like Richmond where he's be some chance of getting a game, rightly so you have MUCH better ruckmen ahead of him.

There was a guy running round in the VFL a few times this year. A 25 year old who dominated the ruck every time he played. Even got about 8 votes in the Liston.
Would he be worth looking at ?

The same guy who eats up $100k+ of our salary cap more than what we would pay a back-up ruckman.
Minson should be traded if he helps get us higher priority players. A third string ruckman being payed as if he is a starting 22 player is not the way to go next year.
Minson's popularity with the playing group may help save him.
Salary cap is an issue, but we should keep Will if we possibly can.
