Was it 4 years ago that Keating got rubbed out for four weeks after striking. The tribunal said it did not matter if the player's eyes were on the ball or not, it was reckless.

Now King gets away with no punishment for a very similar incident.

What a pathetic tribunal system we have.

FRODO
Did you ever complain when Worsfold didn't get reported for smashing Richard Osbornes jaw in a state game a few years ago ?

I think not

I suppose you think someone should be reported for shattering Darren Glass's ankle

"FIGHTING WITH ALL OUR MIGHT"

I saw the three incidents for the first time on Talking Richmond last night.
King got off and rightly so - missed the ball by a millimetre, eyes only for the ball.
Murphy got a week which was fair.
Mooney got two, which was very stiff.
Frodo, you have nothing to sook about on this one.

Frodo, when the umpiring is bad, fair enough if you complain. To hear the same argument every time the Eagles get flogged by 10-15 goals (i.e - umpires cost us the game, etc etc) does no one any favours, least of all yourself.
Your gripes would be taken a lot more seriously if they weren't trotted out for every loss, regardless if the margin is two points or two hundred.

I don't like the Geelong FC any more or less than I like West Coast FC, and to see King suspended for three weeks would see him miss their game against us in Round 4. I believe therefore, that I'm looking at it quite neutrally and objectively when stating my opinion that a suspension would not have been warranted.

Darky, the bias of the umpires started when we won the second flag. It is something that goes on week in and week out. So what should one do? Say nothing and accept it? Or conntinually point it out? I go for the second choice. It may not create change in pointing it out regularly but it sure stands more chance than saying nothing.
And I can take the resultant 'sook' jibes for as long as anyone wants to post them.

come on Darky three weeks would not have hurt... especially when you get two for tapping an umpire on the shoulder... three for striking seems quite appropriate...

What is it with West Aussies and the tribuinal ? They cannot talk, most of the dirty players in the Afl'S history came from Perth, IE Karl 'the human excrement' Langdon, and John 'the fat turd' Worsfold. I admit Geelong aren't angels, but if you see the reply with eyes, Kingy was clearly going for the ball, maybe if Sierakowski was more o fa man he would not have stayed limp of ht field for the amount of time he was inactive.

Hope you've got a bloody big book of excuses Frodo, coz you're gonna need em all to explain away WC's losses this year...... here's one for ya - just not good enough perhaps or hadn't you considered that one? Fair dinkum I nearly pi**ed meself laughing when I saw the duds they recruited from other clubs in the off season. Seirakowski might play 4 games, miss the rest with some pea heart injury, Prior should've given it away 3 years ago, if you wanted a lazy useless old man you could have had me instead of Troy McLure (that his name?), Collica was never up to scratch at Hawthorn, I can't even be stuffed going on because in the end yes, you are right, its all the umpires fault, the Melbourne-centric AFL hates you, the bus had to park too far away from the entrance on Sunday, the airline food was crap, you haven't got used to playing in those superbly fashionable jumpers yet, Karl Langdon couldn't make the trip over to give the team moral support...... take your pick, coz it surely can't be because of your tremendously deep playing list and brilliant coaching.
As for tribunal consistency (oxymoron) - someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Matty McLloyd who gave a 'love tap' last year getting off scot-free? If what Murphy did was worth a week let alone a reportable incident, by geez those tribunal boys are gonna have a busy year.

Are you not aware that Woosha is a qualified dental technician?

Is there anything wrong with a person drumming up some business?

So W.A really does stand for 'whinge again'?

If you are just trying to get a rise out of people, it is not a very interesting way to do it. If you are serious, then you are just sad.

I know that Carlton have had some very lucky wins in their time. I also swear blind that they have had some unfair losses. It may not balance exactly but it does equalise to an extent in time. For you to suggest that the umpires have been against you since 1994 is just ludicrous. Hell, at present, they could be totally biaised towards you and you wouldn't get across the line too often. Football teams fortunes ebb and flow. History shows it. Most of us have a gripe, then just accept and move on. Not many people stand fast to an unrealistic gripe for 6-7 years.

Congrats, I know you pride yourself on being an individual. Hope you treasure your own company!

Excellent stuff.
What grade of primary school are you in?

I'm hoping you were just kidding, right?

"We're not all the same!"
Well you need drugs when your in pain don't you? Same thing. Dont forget the smiley I added.

Oh, and today I read that Jeff Gieschen, no less, commented that it was a foul amd should have been reported.
Isn't he umpires coach? His blokes missed it and so did the tribunal according to Jeff.

There is a common belief down Geelong way that the club was cheated out of 3 Premierships by the Eagles (1991, 1992, 1994), and it is about time we got some of our own back.

Bluntly, we hate your guts and taking the physical approach was to be expected.

The fact is the only reason Murphy got rubbed out was because of his prior's at Carlton, if he had have been clean then he would have pleaded not guilty and surely got off. King deservedly got off as his eyes were firmly planted on the ball and Mooney (the junior batteringram) was careless and deserved 2 weeks.

Anyway, back to the Eagles. Come on boys, be honest you don't know much about the game over there, do you? Let me give an example.

A few years back, you were kicking our arse quite literally in the third quarter. Peter Sumich was in the side and should have got a free kick, no debate, but didn't and for the rest of the game, despite the fact that West Coast were kicking goal after goal, everytime the umpire got the ball, to bounce it, the crowd booed. You clearly knew nothing about the game, I don't even think you knew you were winning, you were just determined to take it out on the umpire for not giving your hero a kick. Get a life people

The fact is, you're all such elitist snobs over there that when things don't go your way you look for excuses and other people to blame instead of the facts at hand.

Carlton are exactly the same in Victoria, they believe that they are so much better than everyone that they deserve special treatment, which the rightly don't get. John Elliot daif a couple of years ago that Carlton don't re-build they also win. Newsflash - 1 Premiership in the last 15 years for a side that don't lose isn't a very good stat.

You have to hand it to Mark Williams when Port won the Ansett Cup when he turned away from the snobs and showed the cup to the outer. They know who there true supporters are. Good on them I say.

The West Coast are so Americanised, so franchised that the ordinary supporter can't follow them. The members don't even own the club. Only the elite can go to their matches and if you support an opposition team, forget it unless you book 3 years in advance.

Face the facts, you've had your success and in the ever turning wheel that is AFL football you will have it again, but for now you are just going to have to get used to the fact that you will lose more than you win for the next couple of years. Until you get used to that fact, you won't succeed, so you may as well stop whinging.

Go Cats Go
I have to pick you up on your comment about opposition supporters not being able to go to games unless they book 3 years in advance.
I have been to every Bombers match here without any problems getting a ticket & these games usually have the biggest turn out, I also attend a few other games with friends who support other AFL teams.

RED & BLACK, THE COLOURS OF FENG SHUI

GoCatsGo - we can't help it if we are able to sell our memberships and have sell out games compared to Geelong.

Getting back to the game you were referring to, I recall it very clearly. The cats killed us in the first half, there were some calls that were a bit 'iffy' and I think Mick was firing smoke out of his ears. Then Brett Heady cleaned up Leigh Colbert *I Think* and suddenly the game turned in our favour.

Just my say on the King incident. I think Mooney was very harsh and unlucky to get 2 weeks. If King was reported by a field umpire I think they would of swapped penalties.
