Wondering what you guys think of the following:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/story_235478.htm

Seems that there is a possiblity that the tribunal proceedings could be televised as of next year. I dunno if this is such a good idea....like the article says, it could be a bit of a circus.

BUT, that's not to say I wouldn't be interested to have a look. I'd like to see what they say in there. Of course, once I'd seen it one time it'd probably be boring thereafter, unless a Carlton player was up.

Would you watch 'Tribunal on tele'??

No doubt about it, unless it was a player from another club I had never heard of. But for everyone else, I would watch it for sure.

Play on says the umpire

Trust me, you're not missing anything. Sitting through tribunal hearings are boring!!!!

Plus, it would compromise the system. The whole idea is that the witness never gets to hear the umpire's or the reported player's evidence, so there is no colusion. Then, there can't be any arguement afterwards.

Oh, for Pete's sake.

Isn't there enough football on TV without bloody tribunal hearings.

Whatever next?

Maybe we could have live coverage of Robert Harvey recovering from his injury.

Or some action shots of the grass growing at Colonial Stadium.

Honestly.

I'd rather watch the bloody test pattern.

I agree Alf
Next they will be televising them in the showers, oh wait, that would make interesting viewing, hey girls.:D

Would I watch it? Depends on who is on! I doubt it would rate too highly most weeks, howeer it would be better than some of the crap that is on fox and optus cable tv. I remember once they had bloody the darts on one chanel, and lawn bowls on the other! Do you flick, or watch one? Which one do you tape? The dilemas of quality TV!!:D

It could help a bit with accountability as sometimes there are some glaring inconsistencies in relation to sentences. Just like players, umpires and the tribunal should be accountable for all actions.

I see an opportunity to bitch.

I kid you not. A few Sundays ago me and my girlfriend were watching TV and had a choice between the V8 supercars, drag racing, an AMERICAN envangelist with a room full of disciples on the floor crying, polo (that's horse not water which would be a lot better) and chess - yes CHESS.

I believe I win :)

I don't like the idea of crying and squeling like a pig on national tv.

You obviously don't like the idea of spelling your name right either.

I wouldn't watch it.
But they wouldn't show it live would they?

They shouldn't be able to show it at all.
This might sound stupid, but if the players know that it's going to be shown on TV, then it could affect some players with what they say.

It wouldn't effect anything I'd be squeling, I mean saying.

I can see why Wayne Campbell wouldn't like the tribunal on tellie. Because if it was with the Libber case Campbell would have been exposed as the weak, pathetic, lying whinger he is.
