Is Howard the first to be suspended this year for a punch to the body though? There have been plenty of examples where a fine has been the result.

I thought Cunnington would get a week for this.

Not sure how you can grade the Howard one differently. Both a long way of the ball and both put the player on the ground. They are the same IMO.

Although Cunnington's was not accidental, they can argue that it was because of how it happened. Just a block gone a tad wrong type thing.

Amon only getting a week shows that they know it’s wrong.

I don’t think there is much to argue about with Dougal, really stupid thing to do. Taylor is absolutely a snitch though, compare that with almost every player in the competition refusing to say anything other than “I didn’t think there was much in it” no matter what is done to them. He was even lifting up his shirt and acting hurt for the cameras in the changerooms afterwards.

I would accept Amon and challenge Doug’s if it isn’t going to be turned into a 2 week suspension!

You’d think Amon could challenge it by saying he literally didn’t see the guy and thought he was being sniped so protected himself.

This was definitely the one that came to mind. Having said that though I am happy for off the ball tummy punches like this to result in a game. It’s an unnecessary action that they should be trying to stamp out, as long as it is consistently adjudicated across the season.

i'd challenge dougals on the basis of every cheap hit that campaigner cunnington has laid this year and last and got off

even if the challenge falls there is no way it could be a 2 week incident

Cant they bring in precedence? i reckon plenty have got off from doing the same thing

well done harry the hall monitor

Well if it helps win then take it.
The type of port i saw sat was the port i want to see. White line fever type we used to see back in 2001 -4 with players like carr pickett hardwick primus etc. Doing everything to win. Yes we are going to get occasional suspensions but we need to show the rest of the comp we mean business. I hope this is the turning point for the group.

Yeah, I’m not sure why it says they can accept 1 match bans with an early plea... if they are getting a discount, why doesn’t the penalty get reduced?

I'd 100% challenge the severity of the Howard grading.

Cunnington earlier in the season didn't get any weeks for his 2nd punch behind the play earlier in the season in Perth.

so sick of the inconsistency of the VFL MRO. Has to be challenged.

Trouble for Amon is it was graded as careless, so he can’t challenge that...

Here are some strikes in the last few weeks that have been graded as Careless or Intentional and either low or medium and high/groin or body and those who can remember or have watched these incidents can comment.

Dougal can't change Intentnional or Body assessment but its downgrading it from Medium to Low that gets him to go from 1 game to a fine, as per the table in the OP.

I'm not implying that at all. The question was asked about Intentional - which is what Dougal was assessed.

Amon they wont appeal.

Looking at all those, I wouldn’t mind betting Dougal's would have been classed as low impact if Taylor hadn't carried on like a 2 year old about it.
