I thought Cunnington would get a week for this.

Not sure how you can grade the Howard one differently. Both a long way of the ball and both put the player on the ground. They are the same IMO.

Wrong thread for this but I was looking for this exact video and instead found Cunnington elbowing Ebert in the head leading to Ebert sitting on the bench distressed head in hands. That was the game prior to the one where he was knock out and missed a month.

I wonder if we missed a concussion there?

Here are some strikes in the last few weeks that have been graded as Careless or Intentional and either low or medium and high/groin or body and those who can remember or have watched these incidents can comment.

Dougal can't change Intentnional or Body assessment but its downgrading it from Medium to Low that gets him to go from 1 game to a fine, as per the table in the OP.

REH, sounds like the medical report from Geelong must have done dougal in?

Looking at all those, I wouldn’t mind betting Dougal's would have been classed as low impact if Taylor hadn't carried on like a 2 year old about it.

Yep, it’s almost all about how long the 2 year old spent doubled over sucking in sufficient breath to howl loudly.

Almost all.

Doogs was dumb to get sucked into it too. Not the very sharpest tool in our shed by all accounts.

Amon’s act unnecessary IMO. But if it’s a mistake of sorts that’s part of his new contested attitude on field I’ll take the week and be thankful no damage done.

McGovern has the same look on his face as Hodge did when he rammed Wingard into the post - "Oh no, I'm going to unavoidably hurt this young fella - who put that post/fence in such a stupid place?!"

That's a 3 weeker, just because of potential damage. It's not on par with Doug's or Amon's hits, imo.

It doesn't matter if we get a player suspended every week, we need to keep that intensity up week in week out.
There was no dirty sniping in the game, just hard at it contests.
Even Howard's was nothing that we don't see week in week out, he just did it a tad silly and got caught out he'll learn from that.

Amon's was just unlucky. It was one of those incidents where neither player got hurt, both players got hurt or either player got hurt. In this case he was lucky he didn't get hurt but unlucky his opponent did. Didn't look like an intentional sniping type of bump.

The difference with all of those is that the victim kept playing. Harry Taylor went off and had a cry about it, so it gets bumped up in severity. Its the same bullshit as what resulted in Robbie Gray getting suspended last year because West Coast decided to take McGovern off since it was a trial game.

I actually think the Amon one is fair enough - chose to bump with force front on off the ball, player went off the ground. Pretty straight forward. He didn't have to go that hard at him.

What? He literally didn’t even see him. Is he meant to dive out of the way? This is a competitive sport FFS.

What do you mean didn't see him? He clearly braced himself and went for the bump. Rohan got in his way and lacked awareness but Karl chose to go in hard.

Let’s hope the trend continues.

I also fully expect Geelong’s season to grind to a halt after how pathetic they were. Teams are going to go after them every week.

I reckon they’ll bounce back and wallop the false economy that is Adelaide.

Yes I hope we didn’t rough them up too much. Want them top of their game for this Friday.

Was Amons bump graded as high? Because I don’t think it even was.
It wasn't graded high. You could say it was 4 on a scale of 14. Had he not got him so high he wouldn't have got the week.
