I think Lonie is a victim of the game plan changing since Ratten took over.
Prior to his knee injury early last season, he was playing very well. Getting to good positions, whilst showing good positioning and decision-making up the field.
Unfortunately, he seems to be more 1-dimensional than Kent and Hind. He is much slower than the other 2, and has a much less penetrating kick. Whilst he is a better pure small forward, IMO, it’s just not what we need in our current set up.
To justify selection over the other 2, Lonie would have to develop his forward-craft to the point where he selects himself. I don’t think he has the physical attributes to get much faster or a bigger kick, sadly.
