There may be more than one, but I'm thinking of the one in the 70s.
Which Australian cricketer's first touch of the ball in Test cricket was dropping a catch?
I haven't the foggiest. :(

No. I found one more recent
Gee, that would be a fair effort for England since 1989, given the amount of South African/West Indian born cricketers they have had playing for them in particular.

Hmm, let's see - since 1989.

So no Strauss, no Alan Lamb, no Smith Brothers, no Nasser Hussain, no Andy Caddick, no Kevin Pietersen, no Hollioakes.

I reckon sometime in the early 2000s. After 2001, because Caddick and Croft were playing then. But without going through every scorecard........................no idea.

I'll let it run a bit longer, but it was before the debuts of Strauss, Pietersen and Trott, as one of them has featured in every England Test since ;-)

here's a very obscure and completely pointless one

there was a world cup XI named where, as listed in batting order, the top six batsmen's surnames all ended with A and batsmen 7-11 all ended with E.* name the side

*as spelled on the cricinfo scorecard of the match

I'm going to guess it was a Sri Lankan team?

haha, no it wasn't. damn i thought my game was the only one.

i was referring to the india game at the same world cup. game washed out after 2 balls in mackay - kris srikkanth's 1 run is the only run scored in the only ODI there, so he has the most runs at the ground with a total of 1 :D

woo finally got one!

is that the only international played at mckay?

Oh well, doesn't even look like any guesses here. The answer is Gary Cosier - they put him in the gully, and he put one down in the 2nd or 3rd over.

Sure, he made a hundred on debut, but let's remember the drop for his true signature moment.

Next:

Which Australian Cricketer has the shortest full name (full christian name plus surname - no middle). It's not Ian Healy - because I've thought of one with only 7 total letters. It's not Tim May, because his full name is Timothy. TBH, I don't really know for sure - anybody?

Theres probably a shorter one, but Brett Lee would be up there as he doesn't have a middle name.

I think he meant not counting the middle name, as opposed to those players without one.

Eg with Tim May, he actually has three names, viz To Be Announced (in reality Timothy Brian Alexander I think).

I can think of at least two other 8s - Ians Davis and Craig.
