Dennis Amiss?
How many forms of dismissal are there?

And,

If a batsman runs 3, then the fielder lets the ball slip out of his hand whilst fielding, and it goes over the fence/boundary line on the full, is that 9 runs?

Ok - here's one that some may know.

Who was the first black cricketer to play in an official test?
I'm guessing the aboriginal touring side that first went to England wasn't an official test, so I'm not too sure

Could be 3 options
Misfield a ball that has already hit the ground, in which case it would be a 4
Overthrow in which case it would be 7
Misfield a catch in which case it would be 6

Can't be 9

Which test player played the most consecutive wins from debut?

How would it be 7? Is that because the ball has been on the ground?

It'd be in the 15 test wins in a row era.
Langer? Hayden?

Yeah, the ball would have to have been on the ground, cause you wouldn't be able to throw the ball until you're in control of the ball, and if you're in control of the ball and the ball was in the air it would already be out.
That's how I see it anyway (might get a bit blurry if a player has caught the ball but their momentum is carrying them over the boundary, but that would be a misfield rather than an overthrow)

Edit: and right era, but not Langer or Hayden

Would be Gilchrist.

Made his debut right at the start of that 14 odd test wins in a row

If the ball "slips out of their hand" I believe it is 4.
My understanding is that overthrows only add to the score if the fielder was in control of the release of the ball, including wilful acts.

It would be seven (to the team) if it was from a catch off a no ball and the ball slipped out.

I think Jimmy Higgs toured England in the 70's, in the days where we played 5-6 tests and around 7-8 county games, played most games, and didn't score a single run.

To be fair to Jimmy, I recall he only had one 'out' among a handful of innings in county games. He didn't play a Test in that 1975 series.

Interestingly, Jim Higgs' test career spanned four years and he played Tests under four Captains ! Name them.

Hmm - four captains. Greg Chappell, Yallop, Hughes and........ no idea - Simpson?

Correct ! Simpson, Yallop, Hughes and Chappell G. Quite a few changes in leadership, however they weren't exactly 'normal' times for Aussie establishment cricket.

What are the two unique aspects of Ian Chappell's century versus West Indies in the second Test of the 1968-69 series?

1. It was his 5th century in 5 games vs the Windies that summer (2x for Australia, 2x for SA, 1x for Combined XI).

2....................................

That is pretty good batting form, but not the right answer. When Chappelli reached his century he had achieved one milestone, and then, when he was dismissed, there was a kind of symmetry about his score and another famous innings.
