No-one from NSW.

Correct. Given all the hand-wringing going on about selection in the other threads, it seemed an appropriate question. The only Australian XI to contain zero NSWers.

It also contained six WA players, which I think might also be a record.

Perth Test of 1981/82 contained had seven, Marsh, Lillee, Hughes, Wood, Laird, Alderman, and Yardley.

Feuding with their captains is not what I am thinking.
Clue: There is a Yorkshireman involved.

Dennis is looking very mid seventies there.

He always liked to have his shirts unbuttoned.
Actually, I was inspired by your question about the ABC cricket books: trying to establish a link between cricketers which does not involve anything which happened on the field of play. So thanks for the inspiration.

OK. Got me there. Giffen had an amazing series in 1894/95 - but hint at a 'less glorious' achievement........

He was Captain. He did send England in after winning the toss in the 2nd test (and lost) - but that happened in 1894, not 1895 /pedant mode/ :D

(He lost the Test in 1895, but he sent the poms in in 1894).
