Is it true about no dead animals being found in Thailand?

It would be pretty amazing if true. There are so many stray dogs running around on those beaches and the surrounding areas.

Yeah there's a few incredible stories floating around with S11. Ian Thorpe apparently left his hotel to visit the building, realised he forgot his camera, walked all the way back and decided to turn on the tv while he got himself a drink or something, saw breaking news about the WTC attacks, looked out the window of his hotel and thought "you've got the be kidding".

I believe a group of Bulldog players (can't remember whether they were AFL or NRL) were also meant to go up but decided to ditch it for a BBQ.

Pretty sure it was Craig Ellis, Luke Darcy and Nathan Brown who were in New York at the time!

short answer ... No, some animals would/must have died eg. caged birds, chained dogs, snakes

Long answer ... Reports of animals behaving strangely prior to the tsunami and of heading inland. Less dead animals found than expected.

From memory, the monkeys were the big talking point. Commonly found along the beaches, they disappeared en masse before the waves hit.

Just read through most of this thread. Learnt a few things but most significantly is the poster "sainter12riewoldt" has some issues. Wonder how he is travelling these days? :eek:

Oh and no matter how many times i read Suzi's posts, she never ceases to amaze me.
No smiles in this thread please, disrespectful and heartless:p
They truly turned this thread from serious and sad to a total pisser.;

I saw on tv a story about a young girl who went for a ride on an elephant on the beach that morning. Apparently this elephant was the most placid thing ever.

Anyway it went crazy and took off with this young girl on it and headed inland. Then the tsunami hit.

If we watched the same thing, I believe that elephant saved her life.
