This kid is something special and I want to be the first to say so.

Saw him win Kangaroos reserve B&F last year as a rookie.

He is an outright BALLMAGNET.

I too noticed that he won the B & F in the twos last year. But I never got around to watching much of the magoos last year, so I really haven't seen him play. Is he an on-baller or a tall key position player?

180cm - plays in the middle and on the flanks, he ate Dent "Western Bulldogs" for breakfast the week after Dent got dropped, and would have been out to impress.

Troy is small but very smart, Remember you heard it here first.

Still can't believe Geelong missed out on him.

Ryan can get the footy, no problems with that but just note the way he disposes it, very ordinary. We all know that Denis loves in-and-under-blokes but he has little patience for those who waste it!

Troy Makepeace is a thumbs up and my other tip for the future is a young guy named Lydsay Smith. Look him up.

Dear insider,
I agree Ryan's disposal by foot is very ordinary at times, especially last week, but at least he is getting the pigskin, which is more then half the battle. I think he deserves every chance he gets.

Can you please tell me anymore about Mr Smith.

Is Makepeace in the squad for the GF? I've heard elsewhere he's pretty good (lets face it you're going to have to find someone with legspeed in that midfield).

Be interesting to see how he goes against the Dons.

Ps. What about some guy called Lange? Much chop?

North do have a bit more legspeed around the ground now....King, Harvey, Pickett, Abraham, and if he comes up this year, Rawlings. It's just that Denis seems to like placing the ballgetters (Stevo, Bell, et al) across the centre, but I noticed that towards the end of last season and the start of this season, King seems to have been let loose in the midfield. I'd love to see Pickett play across the centre as well. I admit though, we can look awfully slow at times, but it's more to do with the team set up rather than the actual number of runners in the side.

Adam Lange made his debut last season against Essendon in round 2. He played as a forward. Throughout the pre-season, he's been playing in the backline and has done a pretty good job. He attacks the ball well, can take a mark, and seems to make the right decisions. He's got a lot of promise, but let's face it, things will step up a notch when the real season starts. However, I do look forward to seeing how he does against the Essendon forward line on Saturday night...that will be one big learning experience for the kid. I think we got him from one of the SANFL clubs.

I may be blowing my own trumpet, but Troy is starting to play as expected.

REMEMBER YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

Sadly no, Shinboners.

But if Troy keeps on going the way he is, I may very well become a member.
