The article says so - 2006 was the last year of his contract and when he wasn’t recontracted he was told that 2005 final had basically seen his papers stamped. That’s pretty rough - 2005 he also played international rules so his season overall had been very good - and he’s right that it wasn’t great he came out of his exit interview thinking he needed to work hard to keep his spot in 2007 and then found out very late he would be either traded or delisted.

The bit about his early time at North is nice. He says all players were part of the group, and if guys like him who were on the supplementary list couldn’t afford to join in trips or anything the whole group would chip in. Also good things to say about Pagan.

He seems to follow the club with interest when I see him on social media, so I don’t think his exit affects the chance of his boys wanting to play for us if it became an option.

Nice interview.

Thanks was going off the tagline haven't read yet.

Agree on 2005. I was surprised when he was delisted, can remember Hawthorn considering him but passing because of his age.

Unfortunately he missed out on flags but hopefully it was some compensation that he played in a finals win with the nucleus of the 1999 premiership team under Denis.
