Hopefully the coaching staff/recruiters weigh it all up and make judgement on what/who fits our best needs for the future.

Fwiw, looking at most of the out of contract names, given that Selwood will probably go Blues/Woods before us, I wouldn't be all that disappointed with McLaran. He's an average player but he's honest, ruck depth back up and has a bit of body size about him. Green and Gaspar are the other two out of contract (at this stage) I'd probably also wouldn't mind if we at least had a look at.

While to go yet and a national draft to get through before we'll find out though just the same.

I dont mind Woewodden lol, i know you guys will be very much against the idea, but i think he has enough to contribute to the club he has skills and experience. Think he would be an asset to the midfield. Place him on a wing and he could reserect his career.

Hawthorn isnt the Catholic Church. We dont reserect careers. We develop careers. Like we want this hasbeen to waste time in the seniors when we could be giving our young guns a go.

Mate we will have heaps of young guns in the side. Woewodden would just add some skill to the team. If we play him on a wing i rekon he would blossom. He has won a brownlow and has shown form at collingwood. So he had a bad year, we all do. We dont have to pay much for him and if he struggles we just delist him. Its a gamble but not a big price to pay for what could turn out to be a great pickup. Youth policy will still happen, if woewodden doesnt play well, then we can drop him to the ressies and delist him at the end of the year. I rekon he is much better than ries, greene, clarke, etc.

Doesn't get enough of the ball midfield, skills.. average, small and slow (and we're covered there), coming off a knee reco so his one good attribute of being pretty nimble might be affected. Hasn't/didn't cement a place in a very poor side prior to his knee injury either and if he was good enough then, he should have done so.

He'd be surplus imo and unlikely to make it, that's why I would hope we wouldn't be looking at taking him in the psd.

Ahh Grendel, Rodan has played every possible Richmond game...... The guy would be a huge asset, he was a freak at under 18s and i think most certantly has the ability to be a genuine good midfielder.

Dylan Smith was a freak at U18 level too, should we go after him?
