I'm not condemning him for life, sure he could mature and truly regret what he did as a kid but ATM he needs a serious kick up the arse and realise the sort of shit he's in. If it wasn't for us he'd be in jail and be facing a very dim future.

Apologies for the intrusion, but as I appointed myself as Troy's #1 fan prior to the draft a few years back, I've been following his story as much as anyone.

First of all, kudos to Richmond for doing everything that they did for him. Although I don't know the details, it seems he did get extra attention. Ultimately, a team can only do so much though.

But I wouldn't be jumping to conclusions based off a Herald Sun article. The quote about the house was clearly cut up to suit the article. For all we know there could have been any number of sentences between the two parts they put together. Also, I'd say it was possibly more a case of him being naive rather than ungrateful. He probably had the idea that everything came easy as an AFL footballer, and that he would be set up for life (ie. the house). That's nothing against him as a person or the club itself, just a lack of understanding about what it truly takes.

Obviously I'm a Taylor fan and not a Richmond one, so I'm probably going to see things slightly different to others here. I really hope he gets back on track and gets a chance somewhere, because he is a real talent. It's just a shame it probably wont be Richmond, given everything they've done on a personal and professional level.

Amongst the other, obvious bullshit in this post I'm very sure the bolded part is pure bullshit. TT and Relton were mates - close to the only mates each had a the club for the first year. That's what I believe. I'm no leading expert but unless you can come up with something to back up what you're saying, don't make defamatory posts like that.

I can't believe how easily skin colour gets bought into this discussion every time. Why is it automatically part of the discussion? Just goes to show people label indigenous Australians no matter who they are.

I originally come from Warrnambool and there is hardly a decent one in the whole town. When you walk down the street and have every single one you see saying stuff like "what you looking at ****" "this is black fella land, get the **** off", or they chain their bikes in front of your car or let some random blokes car tire's air out and laugh, you understand what most of them are like. I'm sick and tired of the whole lot of them crying for more hand outs and stuff like that, when all they do is show complete disrespect towards white people. You cant do anything about it or say anything, you just keep walking because you will either be a) labled racist, or b) bashed by all their family, or killed/stabbed, or c) if you go to the police they will cover it up because they want absolutely nothing to do with them as they will be targeted.

This is the attitude they have and Troy Taylor would have. He thinks he can get everything for nothing and put no effort in. Get rid of him now he will just do the same thing again. I know there are some good indigenous australians but the majority are not and I will take any poster on with thunder.

im not racist but i also find alot of aboriginals are also very lazy footballers look at tambling at both richmond and crows hes to lazy to run the other way and defend alot of aboriginal footballers are like that

When he didnt come back straight away after Christmas the "official" statement from the club was "cultural differences" and the HUN went with a "bender" Some weeks later Troys Mum came out and said he went to WA to see his Dad ended up having a big argument with him and then hit the drink.

I would take more notice of a grubby journo than the sanitised official RFC version.

I stated all of the players were shitty with the preferential treatment they got and how they would not be given the same. Edwards was exempt from the criticism. Throughout the year all of them are now gone. A type of coach/runner with one of the reserves teams also said Troy was bad news and that him and Relton constantly fought and hence the reason Relton left.

If Post doesn't come on this year or show improvement/get any opportunities don't be suprised if he will be at WSYD either. Take it or leave it but I know I am right. You can continue to live in your deluded world where Aboriginals are hard done by angels of purity that deserve everything and cannot be criticised.

I take offence to this. I am from Shepparton and have quite a few Aboriginal friends from the area. Dated an indigenous woman from Shepp for a while and we are still very close friends. There are many, many good people from Shepp, and a lot of them are Aboriginal.

Sounds like you have an axe to grind. I remember that thread, I didn't think it was racist at the time and I thought you were treated unfairly. However what you have said in these last few posts clearly demonstrates how you really feel. There is just no getting through to some people.

the preferential treatment of indiginous players is an interesting topic and if anyone who has played footy in an environment where there is a sizeable portion of indigenous may have experienced it. i was at a christian brothers high school and aborignial boys weer brought down to play 1st XVIII footy, barely trained but still got games. Im not going to generalise from this but this is what i experienced

i think the sleeping giant has had some bad experiences in the past but some of points he has expressed arent really related to the topic or able to be generalised.

aboriginal culture has been torn apart by substance abuse, stolen generation, violence and the subsequent "we are owed" attitude. which is why people tread carefully around the subject.

troy sounded like his community and himself displayed the characteristic mentioned above and haning such an inflated sense of entitlement for someone who has earnt or achieved nothing is astounding.

i agree wholeheartedly. people should come and live in perth and visit northbridge on a friday night or fremantle or any shopping precinct.
it would not be so bad if it was just a few but there are so many who just dont give a stuff. bashing stealing intimidating defacing it is rampant.

had a taxi driver on the radio on tuesday. hes getting out. over the last month i think he said hes been bashed 3 or 4 times robbed numerous times and had 26 runners he complained bitterly that the vast majority of instances involved indigenous scum and that every time it was shown it was an aboriginal it was basically brushed under the carpet.
you are not allowed to say the blacks are running amok nope that would make you racist. the police wipe their hands of it all because nothing happens when they do arrest them.
2% of the population and by crikey do they account for much of the shit that goes on in our society.
far too many of them are lazy, drunks, and most likely in the criminal system or going thru it and all this despite obscene amounts of money being thrown at them. we have literally hundreds of schemes all paid for by mr average tax payer all to no avail.
at the end of the day you cant help those that wont help themselves.

if i have little or no time and no sympathy for the plight of a group in this country it would be the blacks.
