I keep wondering each year if we are going to go into the dreamtime game without any indigenous players in the 22
Edwards will always get a gig.

I reckon we should pump as many games into his as possible. Look how much Astbury has developed from only 17 games.

Also i feel we shouldnt play griffiths much next year, ease him into it.
There's reasons a lot of draft watchers got very excited about TT in 2009 - and reasons why recruiters/draft watchers had big concerns. This thread has picked up on both.
Camerons interview when talkiing about picking up Miller, hinted at that. It came across his shoulder isnt good and wont play much this year.
Mark Burgan compared him to Micky O last year round the time he was drafted, remember it well.
The kid has a lot of work to do, and i still have massive doubts that our club has the ability to get the most out of him - time will tell if the DH era can do something richmond has failed to do in the past 20 years...develop and stablize and aboriginal player
Krakour ( a player that wallace on the trade broadcast basically said needed to go to prison before being able to concentrate to make himself an elite athlete)
Marty McGrath
Carl Peterson ( despite his recent AWOL HFC performance, he still managed to look more a part of their club in one season than he ever did at RFC )
Richard Tambling ( an amazing individual who is currently in Sri Lanka helping charity - but still failed to be able to settle enough to call RFC home )
Jarryd Oakley Nicholas ( went to WCE and within a month they had diagnosed him with a learning disorder )
Ashley Blurton
Justin Murphy (became a very professional and reliable player for carlton - but was nothing more than a flash in the pan for the tigers )
Wally Lovett
Steve Jackson
Lionel Proctor
Michael Mitchell ( in his few years he was amazing - but the club ultimately failed. he was not happy at Richmond, we did not get the most out of this amazingly talented individual )
Allroy Gilligan -
Relton Roberts - didn't even look close
The list of aboriginal players to don the yellow and black that have failed to develop, keep happy, and feel like they belong at Richmond is a long and damning list - its hard to ignore.
For us to get the most out of Troy Taylor, we are going to have to reverse and 20 year trend with a nearly 100% failure rate ( maurice exlcuded ) of us not being able to get the most out of this very raw, but extremely talented individuals.
In many ways, this is the clubs ultimate test to see how much we have grown and "turned a new leaf"
RFC might as well be death Valley for a young Aboriginal players career - harsh but very true.
Hit it in one. GC and the Pies were very keen. but got cold feet come draft time. Someone here had a dig at me bagging him, yet had a go at my love of King. Well Taylor has triple the ability of Jake, but Kingie has 10 times the want and need to extract 110% out of that limited ability. If Troy had his resolve, he could no doubt be elite with the natural ability he has.

Was picking up Griff an even bigger risk than Taylor? What is the latest on him...does anyone know some accurate info on him?
IMO, the Predator was a bigger risk. Griffiths was an early pick when there were a lot of sure bet AFL players still there, but we chose to take the punt on the man with the straw skeletal system.
Im no expert on the medical side of things so will he always have bad shoulders with every year the worry of them ending his season, or is the surgery he had going to fix it?

I had this discussion with someone else, some other forum. The kid has a lot of work to do, and i still have massive doubts that our club has the ability to get the most out of him - time will tell if the DH era can do something richmond has failed to do in the past 20 years...develop and stablize and aboriginal player

Im definitely in the minority when it comes to Troy. Heaps of natural talent and freakish at times, but just to lazy in his approach. Obviously a make or break year, but I for one don’t see him being with us next year (2012)
"Look at me, look at me".
Congratulations. I'm sure you're happy.
Typical from you.
No its not look at me, but if people want to bag the shit out of me for having this exact opinion and call me all sorts of names then im entitled to have a come back.
I also remember a quote from you "Taylor is close to the biggest dud we have on our list imo" or something along those lines.
Find it instead of making accusations.
Having said that you are right i dont rate him (because of attitude issues) But how is that different to the hatred for certain players that you have?
