Yeah. You hear the most outrageous things that close to the fence, but this was a extremely loud expletive ridden personal attack on the field umpire that went beyond the 'well the crowd pays their money' and unfortunately I got sucked in to turning around and giving it back with a few remarks. The field umpire did too but kept it above board. I didn't swear or anything but still need to be better than that and usually am.You're a boundary umpire aren't you?
I mean I usually give a bit back to the crowd if I overheard stupid shit and did in this game but on one occasion I didn’t dispute their views of the decision, I went below the the line straight away and feel remorseful. No one needs to be abused, that includes spectators.
Probably we're still all a bit pissed that the tribunal completely ignored the evidence of three umpires and let a club dictate a suspension to them to a player that did very little wrong. No excuse but.
I guess this is a good lesson for me about how acting in the moment can make you feel worse in the long run. Something I'll remember.
