Look, I stuck with it to the end of S1, so there was enough to keep me at it, but it was such a wasted opportunity to do something epic because the source material was so good.

They ended up producing a highly polished teen fiction romance with a sci-fi backdrop that sets everyone under the age of 30 as the heroes and anyone over as the villain.

Case in point:

Spoiler: Spoiler 1

Salvor Hardin was originally an older white haired male and as the mayor of Terminus, was famed for his mastery of peaceful negotiations. Now we have a young gung-ho female superhero with her HanSolo-esque boyfriend just 'knowing' s**t and somehow now born of a union between two other young protagonists.

Hari Seldon rocking up at the end with his 'this was my plan all along' schtick, even though the plan relied on him predicting a randomly galaxy-hopping spaceship to land precisely where Hardin and the Anacreons would find it. Deus ex machina much?

Asimov's First Law of Robotics broken multiple times without even a second thought. A fundamental piece of canon that entire novels are predicated on. Seems pointless to me to base something on one of his novels and remove his singular philosophical stand point on robotics.
