Not enforcing the follow on was a stupid decision at the time and it's even worse now. Why did they send our batsman out in the hardest batting conditions of the day? Just so stupid.
I don’t follow cricket, and even I knew that was a bad idea. Quite apart from the mental effect.

Australia currently has a lead of 300 with 5 wickets in hand. They will win this test in a canter.

After 3 years of attending Day/night Tests, I can honestly say I prefer attending the traditional 11am to 6pm Test match.

People will point to the numbers and say otherwise, but I just get the feeling the SMA/SACA are squeezing this event a little too hard. It feels overcooked.
given that about 75% of the crowd have ****** off home by halfway through the last session you might be right.

I think I might prefer the normal daytime tests too on reflection

Of the 55k, who actually saw more than a session of play. It's all about the bullshit out the back now.
It always was, just it seems like there's an extra 10,000 people doing it.

Used to love cricket, especially in the 80's and 90's, the great West Indian teams, the brilliant Pakistanis. Australia's rise from be shit house to virtually unbeatable. Loved AB's grit with a side of plodders around him. I liked the way over a summer you really got to know the opposition, it was truly a proper tour back then.

Dunno, just have lost my interest quite a bit and struggle to really get behind the Australian team. Last night whilst watching at home, I was really enjoying the English bowling. I'd almost say barracking for it. Had mates that played at state level and some of the stories they told me about the Australian Cricket team and Cricketers in general left me under no illusion that Cricketers are some of the worst people on the planet. Make Rugby League meatheads look like Choir Boys.

I used to be a member, never missed a day of the Test. Lost interest and stopped renewing years ago. Just can’t get into it anymore. Was originally a decision of economics - could only afford to keep one of my Port Adelaide membership or Cricket membership at the time and went with the obvious.

Yeah I’m the same. I started watching cricket from about 1992 onwards and was bloody obsessed with it growing up, would watch almost every single game over the summer. But now I struggle to feign any genuine interest in it and will often actively barrack against Australia (Bangladesh loss case in point). I’m not sure why exactly, but I found myself doing the same with the Socceroos when they played Syria. Maybe I just love the underdog.

On each day of the weekend it wouldn't surprise me if there were 10k people that didn't see a single ball bowled
A bit like general admission area in the middle of the Adelaide grand prix track, where large numbers of the attendees couldn't be bothered trying to watch, so they just sat around and got pissed.

I don't think Australia have enforced the follow on ever since.
I didn’t even blink at Australia not enforcing the follow in. The plan was to bat until 2 sessions in today, compiling as many as possible and getting to an unlosable position, then have 4 sessions at England on a pitch that appears to be getting more difficult to bat on by the day. The other consideration was giving the tiring Australian bowlers a rest.
Now, obviously this hasn’t gone completely to plan, but England will more than likely need to get a record score to win. It’s very unlikely Australia will lose this.

Pretty much - another 60 runs from here would be ideal and there is a fair chance this will be all over tonight as well.

Our bowling line up is at least 10 x better than there's.

Brian Lara’s retirement pretty much signalled the end of my genuine interest in the game.

During Australia's golden era of the early 2000s, I hated the Australian cricket team and would always cheer against them.

I think it was the players I didn't like and the culture of the vast majority of Australian cricket fans. My hatred grew stronger during India's tour of 2007/08, and I thoroughly enjoyed England spanking them in the 2010/11 Ashes.

I'm not that big on cricket anymore. Playing it on weekends is psychological torture as well!
