For the sake of a spicing up a terrible done-to-death argument, here's my best 10 track combined Megatellica album.

Four Horsemen
Seek and Destroy
Ride The Lightning
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Battery
Master of Puppets
One
Harvester of Sorrow
Frayed Ends of Sanity
Unforgiven
not doing megadeth because they are awful but for metallica

dyers eve
battery
one
fight fire with fire
welcome home (sanitarium)
master of puppets
whiplash
for whom the bell tolls
that was just your life
unforgiven

I follow West Ham in pommie soccer because when I lived in London for a few years in the 90s I lived in Plaistow, then Upton Park so they were my local team. Unfortunately the only time it's exciting to be a fan is when they're in a relegation scrap. I'm not that emotionally invested any more.
I like American sport but don't really follow any teams. When I was a kid it was always Lakers v Celtics on the telly on Sunday mornings and Magic Johnson was more charismatic than Larry Bird so I was a Lakers fan. Couldn't give a shit these days - and haven't for at least 20 years.

That Dimmi Payet season was great, the last at the Boleyn Ground. I have the home shirt from that year because it is so great (and going for about 50 bucks). Only opposition shirt I own and it just sits in my closet.

The last shirt I had has Doc Martens as the sponsor

The Olympic stadium looks so soulless on the telly. Boleyn Ground was great. I lived in 3 different places and they were all about a 20 minute walk away.

dallas cowboys ferrari f1
Not having a dig man I'm genuinely curious about people being in love with clubs that are ten thousand miles away.
What difference does distance make..if you like a sport and follow it its not hard to become a fan of a certain team.

For me its the Dallas cowboys. Loved the sport as soon as i started watching it. Emmitt smith was so good to watch, rbs are always my favourites.. so supporting dallas was pretty easy for me to do.. to be honest it was probably 50% emmitt and 50% that one scene in that classic movie staring debbie.. but still it was easy to find a team to support in a sport i really enjoy watching.

On the other hand ive played bball for over 20 years but cant find a nba side to support. Just doesnt grab me, although this time of year i do enjoy the playoffs and find myself going for LeBron.. so good to watch. Also a fellow cowboy fan ha..

I got into Liverpool from them being my team in FIFA since I was like 7 and I got a home shirt and a scarf for a birthday a few years later. I think having that tangible stuff helped build a connection to the team there was otherwise no way of getting a physical connection to. Started regularly watching games right at the back end of the Hodgson era. Lots of finals losses and that failed title chase but lots of good times too that make it worth getting up at 2~5am. My affinity was absolutely solidified from watching Luis Suarez. Just an incredible entertainer.

I've tried to get into American sports but it's hard to bother with sport if it doesn't work with your timezone and you don't have an emotional investment. And I haven't been able to build a real investment in a team I didn't have an affinity for as a child. I latched onto the Devils this year in the NHL which was fun but it didn't really feel like much when they lost. With US sports I tend to watch more when it's the post-season and then only really when it's a game with a great narrative (Cubs a couple of years ago) or there's a GOAT playing (Brady, LeBron).

I've always wondered, how did you become a Port supporter being based in Melbourne?
Do you have a family connection or was it just a case of picking the team you like?

Got to come home from work early today because the young fella is home sick. The ads on afternoon weekday telly are ******* appalling - worse than ISIS. The quality and repetition of funeral plan and old geezer insurance ads make me actually want to kill someone

This is totally understandable for an Aussie, but **** this story repeats itself all over the UK and makes me sick (for Man United fans as well).

They are the equivalent of Geelong and Hawthorn fans from Outer Harbour.

Honestly not entirely sure, no legitimate reason.

Didn't go to much football as a kid so I wasn't really swayed to a local side. Liked the colours. Byron was my favourite player.

Dad was a Collingwood supporter but for some reason I didn't follow. I probably needed more indoctrination.

Or a Port supporter from Melbourne :rainbow:

I have worked with a few guys from the UK who aren't from Manchester but are United supporters. Guys who are like "Birmingham is my local but I also go for United" which is odd to me, since they've been in the same division as recently as a few years ago. Maybe if your local was in like the 7th tier it'd make more sense.

Funnily enough the trams into the city the other night for the final were running really late so I approached some folk wearing Liverpool shirts and offered them a ride in my uber, and one of them was a bloke born and raised in Manchester who was a red. Inherited from his dad, but.

Exactly!
Glory grabbers pure and simple. They never support ducking Southampton or Sunderland do they?
They were the little campaigners in school who’d go around calling themselves scousers or mancs. No Geraint, you are from Troedyrhiw you little prick!
Usually the softest as well as to actually go to games (Cardiff or anywhere) took some balls in the 80’s and 90’s.

People from Birmingham have Villa, Birmingham, WBA, Wolves to choose from before you even get down to the likes of Walsall and Coventry.

I was going to post that no one actually lives at Outer Harbor but thought I'd Google it first. Population 3 according to the 2006 census. Probably people living on their boats at the RSAYS.

Maggies, Spurs, Raiders?
I only nominally say in the NBA that San Antonio is 'my team' because they are black 'n white and when I played NBA Jam as a littlun i would pick David Robinson and whoever it was with him

I would back the Nets as well as they are a similarly black 'n white team and 2-team town bit, but every single tradie bogan is wearing their hat around Noarlunga Centre and calling their sons Brooklyn so, meh

Raiders in the NRL but I don't honestly follow or care

Tottenham nominally because 'Spurs' but i've only ever brought it up to bait a Man U supporter

i don't have enough time to follow another sport other than the odd score-check on twitter
