Yep. The difference between their board and ours is stark. I read from time to time to just to see what their obsessive lunatics are in their several anti Port threads are deluding themselves with this week......

This was just posted by one of their resident teethgnashers, a direct except from the Souf Adelaide 2017 Annual report:

"......1991 and the creation of Adelaide FC to play in the VFL drained so many players that the SANFL competition was reduced to nine teams. Once again, Woodville FC was folded – this time into its western suburbs neighbor. The Woodville FC CEO was then appointed as Adelaide FC’s inaugural CEO. It was a very tough task as the new Club had a ground to play on but needed to raise capital, recruit players and coaches, secure sponsors and sign up members. SANFL provided the necessary capital and appointed the board. In return, Adelaide FC had to pay a dividend of $1 million per annum to SANFL. In 1991, SANFL was largely debt free and held $2.25M in the Players Retention Fund (which was why Adelaide FC was able to assemble such a strong team).

SANFL embarked on a building program to make necessary improvements to the stadium built at West Lakes with money generated by the league clubs. It entered into bank loans for development purposes. These were later drawn down upon to fund successive recurrent Port Adelaide FC trading losses. Until the AFL licences were sold when AFL Football moved to Adelaide Oval, Adelaide FC paid $16M to SANFL in dividends and Port Adelaide FC received $17M in grants from SANFL. To this day, Adelaide FC pays SANFL to field an SANFL team whereas Port Adelaide FC does not."

I mean honestly, firstly what an absolute load of bullshit for starters, and secondly WTF are they embarking on this revisionism in their 2017 Annual Report? They need to get these pathetic idiotic dinosaurs the hell away from these SANFL clubs if they want to survive. The bitterness of these shit kicker clubs and the people that run them is what will destroy the SANFL. And the subaru disciples just lap it all up........ sad bunch of campaigners.
The VFL* didn't exist when they joined.

*It became the AFL in 1990

I was going to ask, has any living Souf Adelaide supporter seen them win a premiership?, but then realised that probably every one of their living supporters has! Given that the last time was 1964 I'd say that club's woes go way back before 'the treachery of 1990'.

We had a live in nanny that was about 200kegs and if it got over 20 degrees Celsius the aircon was on full bore.

When she left our power bill halved and our food bill dropped $150 p/w.

Motto: Always get a skinny nanny/au pair from a warm climate.
Read some article the other day saying how often men end up having 'relations' with Nanny's. I would say the power and phone bill was far cheaper than the other option.

Also, Woodville didn't fold, West Torrens were the ones that were insolvent, with debts over a million bucks. It just looks like Doug from St Mary's who's been supporting Souf since he began work at the Hills Hoist factory in 1969 wrote this. In an Annual Report no less. ******* deluded amateurs.

As The League famously illustrated, just the term "au pair" is inescapably hot.

"Nanny", not so much.

South Adelaide campaigners should really be focusing their ire on Nord - after all it was them coming into the comp and pillaging all their players in the 1880s that really ****** them up. Still haven't recovered.

If they survive another 100 years they may start to turn it around

Have you gotten to the wonder that is Miss Aggie yet?

It’s not politically correct, but that thread is depressing evidence of why the welfare state unintentionally is undoing the benefits of natural selection. Through human history you’ve needed an advantage - be it strength, intelligence, looks etc - to get to the point your genes will be passed on, with said advantage passed on for the benefit of humanities future generations. Now it’s flipped it so the most successful are too time poor at work to have (m)any kids, but the ‘Chriscoers’ and their ilk go forth and propagate (with families with kids from numerous fathers and badly misspelled names like Jakson and Kristill). Oh what a world to look forward to.
It's working exactly as intended.

From the time of the Magna Carta up until the Industrial Revolution, the ability for serfs to own land saw the rise of a middle, merchant class that had none of the responsibilities of governance or leadership but had the benefits of being materially rich. Those that had enough money to buy land could own taverns and shops without being excessively taxed and so eventually - over the course of hundreds of years - they rose to have fabulous amounts of wealth. However, because they were still under the servitude of a king/queen, they could never have ultimate power.

The solution was to create forms of credit with rates of interest so that the merchants would be able to take from the people their means of livelihood if they didn't pay. A form of financial slavery. Then by the time of the industrial revolution, these merchants realized that in order to truly be in power, they needed to wipe out a large portion of those that had no need of loans (since there was no products that you would need to go into debt to buy) while profiting from the new mechanized production systems - hence World War 1, followed by the Great Depression and World War 2...all of which were systematically engineered to enslave the population and their governments into massive amounts of debt as consumerism heated up.

What they feared most was the people rising up and creating their own form of Manga Carta against the merchant class. This is exactly what Marx and Lenin advocated, which is why Communism is so hated in the Western world. It's also why China sees themselves as the hope of the world through their OBOR policy.

The world is sinking back into a situation where there is no middle class. It will be just the wealthy and the serfs...but the serfs have this illusion of power, because they are 'better off' than those who are poorer than they are. Is it the wealthy that support those poor on welfare? Nope, it's us poor serfs. That's why people are time poor - their entire wage is going to servicing debts, superannuation or tax.

The end result is that instead of leaving an inheritance to your children - which is how most wealth is generated - people are now just spending it up because it's the only time in their life they actually have to enjoy themselves.

That's why when I see those Crisco campaigners, I'm just incredibly sad, because that's exactly where everyone is headed...and they don't even realize it.

We've had 4 live in nannies/au pairs no danger of any relations with any of them.

That said my darling wife picked them all....

Before our first nanny arrived the conversation went something like this:

ED - "We should get one of those really hot Swedish girls that likes to live "naturally"

Ms Dingle - "Why are you even speaking?"

Big kiwi chick rocked up.

One of many highlights in Vulture's awesome In Conversation: Quincy Jones piece:

"[Marlon Brando] was the most charming motherf@%ker you ever met. He’d f@%k anything. Anything! He’d f@%k a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye."

Pryor's widow, Jennifer, later confirmed Richard and Marlon hooked up.

"It was the '70s! Drugs were still good, especially quaaludes. If you did enough cocaine, you'd f@%k a radiator and send it flowers in the morning."

Needs a poll: would you rather f@%k a mailbox or a radiator?

NUFC, YES.
Who the hell did they get in to write this nonsense? The alias-toting psychopath who faked his own death or the CrowCrap twitter lunatic who kept accusing us of looking to profit from the J-Mac and Phil Walsh tragedies?

"SANFL embarked on a building program to make necessary improvements to the stadium built at West Lakes with money generated by the league clubs."
The chief moneyspinner of which was Port Adelaide by a massive margin.

"It entered into bank loans for development purposes. These were later drawn down upon to fund successive recurrent Port Adelaide FC trading losses."
Losses caused by the SA Football Commission decreeing the unnecessary divorce of the Power and Magpies, which not only cost millions in real terms (setting up the PAMFC at Ethelton) but untold damage in terms of brand, identity and supporters.

And a terminal stadium deal at an obsolescent hellhole that was threatening to send the Crows into the red towards the end.

"Until the AFL licences were sold when AFL Football moved to Adelaide Oval, Adelaide FC paid $16M to SANFL in dividends and Port Adelaide FC received $17M in grants from SANFL."
We'll just ignore all the revenues generated for the SANFL by advertising/signage, parking, catering and pourage while Port paid down all expenses on matchdays, shall we?

"To this day, Adelaide FC pays SANFL to field an SANFL team whereas Port Adelaide FC does not"
Maybe because Port Adelaide is one of two existing foundation members of the SANFL and ceded its 1/9th share of the Football Park precinct sell-off, idk.

There was a series of short films on SBS about 8-10 years ago, and one of them had a scene of a Scandinavian `au pair ' coming out of the shower wrapped in a very short towel and walking up a flight of about a dozen stairs, while the camera remained at the bottom of those stairs looking upwards.

The map of Tassie didn't get a run, but King Island was clearly visible for at least 3 or 4 seconds.
I was amazed the scene got past the censors, but somehow it resulted in me becoming an avid SBS viewer for quite some time. ;)

Gough kicked the censors out and he brought in the classification ratings. That was before SBS even started. How long have you really been an SBS avid viewer. ;)
