It can be a separate point and it can be paired with ignoring haters, it works either way.

It's great that you don't feel guilted being male. Unfortunately others do and it is harmful to their mental health.

I feel like this is skating on thin ice, but as long as “being male” isn’t coming at someone else’s expense then I agree that people shouldn’t be made to feel guilty for who/what they are.

Oh yeah? Well how come no-one’s encouraging me to have a pap smear every 2 years?

I heard that in South Korea, women get free prostate exams but men don't.

(It's not government policy, just the doctors')

I agree with this in so much as eating to excess or drinking too much soda/juice, but the demonisation of sugar in itself has become hackneyed ‘wellness’ shtick.

We need glucose to survive.
No we don't. People are more then capable of running on a Low Carb - High Fat. Whether this is best for everyone or at all times is another matter. And any carbs will convert to glucose in the body, we don't need any sugar. A huge tax on Sugar (both processed and 'healthy foods') would be the quickest way to improve the health of the country.

We absolutely need glucose to survive, homes. It’s why diabetics die in their sleep when they don’t get their insulin levels right.

The only bit of the body that must have some glucose is the brain and that you can get through the body producing it whilst LCHF (gluconeogenesis). I run Low-Carb High-Fat Spring-Summer these days (yeah, largely for vanity to have visible abs at 45) and after two weeks the body cuts over from using carbs for fuel to using fats (Ketones), except for the 30% of fuel your brain needs from glucose. LCHF is the most effective way for Type-2 Diabetics to fix their situation.

How's your breath? ;)

I got great satisfaction of spending many hours with my boys getting them reading well (using Phonics, I certainly wouldn't have left that to the 'whole word' and sounding out bullshit of much of the schools teaching).
but how would they learn how to pronounce yacht - or the difference in pronouncing though, thorough, enough, etc (or 1000 other inconsistencies in the English language) without the 'whole word' and sounding out bullshit? Maybe the trained educators know some stuff.

Reading with your kids is the best though - everyone should try and find time to do it when their kids are growing.

Prohibition doesn't work. I'd just tax the shit out of sugar, cigarettes (already done), alcohol (more than at present) and legalise dope and tax that highly as well (all tax from it to go to health care).

Yeah legalising dope will make people eat healthier...

I once ate a whole cheesecake using barbecue shapes as spoons.

I was a beer and fruit loops guy.

It's not that sugar is bad for you. It's that sugar is in literally every processed food you can think of. Tomato sauce has sugar in it. A lot of packaged bread has sugar in it.

The reason for it is because sugar stimulates appetite - evolutionary speaking, the first time we would get a dose of sugar was in spring when the first fruits came into season, and it kicked started our metabolism back up from the hibernation fast it had been through during the leaner winter months so we could go out and hunt for food again. That is, once you ate one piece of fruit, you'd crave another one and another one and it would give you the energy you needed.

But food companies have taken to adding sugar to products that don't need it so that their product is consumed more.

If you wanted to go on an evolutionary based diet - you'd consume grains, fruits and nuts in summer along with meat and have a high caloric intake that was fat/protein/carbohydrate rich, then in winter eat dried meats and grains and have a lower caloric intake that burned off all the energy stored during the summer months.

Does the tax placed on these items actually equate with people abusing those things less? I can't see obese people deviating towards fruit and veg because of the cost of a large Big Mac meal. Similarly people form a low socio economic background still drink and smoke.

Lol I was with it aside from this and “virtue signalling”, a concept the idiocy of which of inherent to the phrase.

Man I sure hate it when I’m asked to apologise for being male though.

The Find inspirational accounts on twitter/Insta was the one that killed it for me.

We need glucose to survive.

The human body is incredibly efficient at synthesising glucose from carbohydrates and other sources. It is virtually impossible to eliminate all sources of glucose from your diet to the point where your health is at risk. Conscious effort to cut out sugar from diets will improve health and lead to a reduction in body fat.

We absolutely need glucose to survive, homes. It’s why diabetics die in their sleep when they don’t get their insulin levels right.

Diabetics have an inability to regulate their blood glucose levels. They do need a glucose source (like Jelly beans) to survive if their blood glucose levels drop too low. This isn't the case for non-diabetics.

Forza, I say this with respect, but no shit.

As a healthy person your blood glucose should be bang on 6.0 mmol/L. Anything consistently higher and you’ve got an issue, anything consistently lower and you’ve got an issue.

I wasn't sure given you equated taking sugar out of your diet with having insufficient glucose to survive.

Nah, it was more a comment on the base demonisation of ‘sugar’ writ large.

ie, bozos who follow wellness fads and think they’ve ‘eliminated sugar’ from their diet while eating loads of carbs or parroting oncology-related bullshit like “glucose feeds cancer cells!!11” (glucose feeds all cells) and so on.

Anything consumed in excess is bad for you.

In an ideal world no one would use it, but since they do, more of the money might as well go into the health system rather than the current growers hands.

It's all economics...

- Find inspirational accounts to follow on Twitter/Insta

Kill Twitter and Instagram.

- Remove toxic people from your life and surround yourself with positive people

This sounds easy but can be a huge hurdle.

"Toxic" doesn't always mean that they are a shithead, they may just bring out certain behaviours in you that need to be curbed.
